A Light machine operator is responsible for helping assemble and prepare products for shipment.
Responsibilities:
• Configures and operates electrically/air-powered automatic forming and assembling machine.
• Loading materials, forming and assembling parts based on prints and work instructions.
• Follow safety set-up rules such as lockout/tag out, and safety requirements for the job.
• Configures equipment, and adjusts dies, sensors, and settings.
• Recognizing and reporting adverse conditions of the dies, performing periodic checks on equipment, and solving problems as detected.
• Inspect production parts and record findings on the inspection sheet.
• Monitor work schedule to ascertain production information, such as size, type, and quantity to be processed.
• Run secondary machines in the department such as stamper, rivet gun, reamer, and balancing machine.
• Perform any other task associated with production in or outside of the department.
Requirements:
• Proven experience as a machine operator
• Mechanical skills, including comfort with using tools to make simple repairs.
• Working knowledge of automated equipment and measuring tools (Calipers, micrometers, etc.)
• Understanding of production procedures
• Ability to read blueprints, work instructions, and shop orders.
• Attention to detail
• Teamwork and communication skills.
• A technical degree is a plus.
Physical Requirements:
• Able to lift at least 25 lbs.
• Able to sit or stand up for lengths of time
