Job Overview:

 2nd Shift Monday-Friday 2:30pm-1:00am position 

REPORTS TO: Line Manager or Shift lead

JOB DESCRIPTION: This individual will perform all setups and operate equipment. You must understand and execute to a set of specified instructions (sequenced based control, work instructions, drawings, etc.), execute proper start-up and shut-down of machine; Set-up, load, and operate machine to planned arrangements; and evaluate, correct, and take actions necessary to prevent external quality (size & defects) issues. Must have the ability to read and interpret blueprints, specs and instructions. You will also be logging all production activity.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • High School Diploma or GED preferred
  • Previous machine operating experience in a manufacturing facility, or similar relevant experience
  • Aptitude for technology and math

PRINCIPLE OBJECTIVES:

  • Comply with all safety and health regulations
  • Perform typical laser cutting and punching operations including loading and unloading of the punch laser machine; adjust machinery when necessary to improve performance
  • Select proper cutting programs and proper punch tooling and use the correct gauge of material as required by the work order
  • Establish proper cutting/punching technology; adjust punch laser technology table as required
  • Troubleshoot issues and perform maintenance
  • Perform quality control to verify conformance to specifications, using micrometers, gauges, calipers, templates, or rulers
  • Follow reporting and recordkeeping procedures, and report problems or inaccuracies to supervisor
  • Conduct regular maintenance; clean machinery
  • Calculate formulas using basic math, standard U.S. and metric measurements

  • Understanding of production and plant processes
  • Analytical and numerical skills: ability to perform mathematical calculations (add, subtract, multiply, divide) in different units of measurement
  • Ability to work in a team
  • Maintain a safe, clean, positive work environment always
  • Ability to lift heavy equipment, to bend, stand, or walk for long periods of time
  • Willingness to work in shifts (late or early hours, weekends, and overtime if necessary)
