General Summary

This position is responsible for setting up and operating manually controlled machines; skilled precision and bench work in the maintenance and repair of pumps and equipment. Shop work, no travel required.

Essential Job Accountabilities

  • Reads and interprets blueprints

  • Uses gauges and measuring instruments to meet tolerance requirements.

  • Uses precision tools, machinery and equipment such as lathe, vertical milling machine, drill press, hydraulic press, chop saw, band saw, push and pull broaches and a variety of cutting tools and equipment.

  • Disassembly, inspection, rebuilding and assembly of water pumps.

  • Performs shop and shop office tasks including part ordering and paperwork.

  • Performs daily and regular cleaning and light maintenance tasks on machinery and equipment.

  • Abides by all safety procedures and protocols.

  • Complies with all quality policies, specifications, regulations and instructions.

Education

  • High School Diploma, GED or equivalent years of experience

Certification

  • Must possess a valid driver's license.

  • Technical school certification preferred.

Work Experience

  • Minimum 1 year of experience

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Ability to read blueprints.

  • Proficient in basic math.

  • Working knowledge of industry tools and equipment.

  • Good communication skills.

  • Good organizational skills.

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear.

  • The employee frequently is required to stand, walk, sit and use hands to operate a small hand tools.

  • The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 70 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 lbs.

  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, and ability to adjust focus.
