Public Works Supervisor
Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
Job Overview
The Town is seeking a dependable, self-motivated, and experienced Public Works Supervisor to oversee daily maintenance and public works operations. This is a hands-on position that requires working outdoors and actively participating in maintenance activities while supervising one maintenance employee.
The ideal candidate is a problem solver who can work independently, prioritize tasks, take initiative, and maintain the Town's infrastructure while providing excellent service to residents and the community.
Key Responsibilities
Water & Wastewater Operations
- Operate, inspect, maintain, and repair water distribution and wastewater collection systems.
- Troubleshoot and repair pumps, lift stations, valves, hydrants, meters, and related infrastructure.
- Respond to water leaks, sewer blockages, and utility emergencies.
- Perform testing, sampling, inspections, and required recordkeeping.
- Complete utility locates and maintain compliance with applicable regulations.
Equipment & Grounds Maintenance
- Safely operate and maintain equipment including backhoes, wood chippers, vac machines, and other municipal equipment.
- Maintain parks, rights-of-way, easements, and Town-owned properties.
- Perform mowing, trimming, brush removal, and storm cleanup activities.
- Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance on Town vehicles and equipment.
Streets, Buildings & Community Facilities
- Perform street repairs and drainage maintenance.
- Complete general building maintenance, including basic plumbing and electrical repairs.
- Assist with community event preparation and seasonal decorations.
- Maintain the appearance and safety of public facilities and grounds.
Leadership & Administration
- Supervise and work alongside one maintenance employee.
- Assign daily tasks, provide training, and ensure work is completed safely and efficiently.
- Maintain daily and weekly work logs.
- Attend monthly board meetings and provide reports on completed projects, ongoing maintenance, and infrastructure needs.
Required Qualifications
- Current Class D Water Operator License.
- Current Class D Wastewater Operator License.
- Valid Oklahoma driver's license with a good driving record.
- Experience in public works, utilities, maintenance, or a related field.
- Ability to safely operate heavy equipment.
- Knowledge of water and wastewater systems.
- Ability to supervise employees and work independently.
- Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to perform physical outdoor work in varying weather conditions.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with electrical utility systems.
- Pump maintenance and troubleshooting experience.
- Municipal or public works supervisory experience.

Work Environment
This position requires outdoor work and physical activity in a variety of weather conditions. Employees may work around heavy equipment, utility systems, construction areas, water and wastewater systems, and related municipal infrastructure.
