Job Overview:

Are you a hands-on technician who enjoys working with cutting-edge technology, solving problems, and bringing new products to life? Emerson is looking for a Prototype Technician to join our team in Shakopee, MN. In this role, you'll play a key part in supporting new product development by programming, operating, and maintaining advanced circuit board manufacturing equipment.

 

Working within our Electrical Supply Chain team, you'll collaborate with engineering and design teams to build prototype circuit boards, improve processes, champion safety initiatives, and help drive innovation from concept to reality. In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:
  • Program and operate circuit board production equipment, and troubleshoot any equipment error messages 
  • Program and operate the circuit board conformal coating equipment 
  • Lead safety activities in the area by managing Equipment Safety Reviews, leading department safety inspections, and implementing any safety related action items 
  • Own processes in the area which includes creating and maintaining procedures 
  • Implement new equipment and complete preventative maintenance on over 20 pieces of equipment 
  • Manage PCA Prototype Area chemicals by ordering, properly storing, and tracking inventory 
  • Order, manage, and track circuit board components, small tools, and consumable items used to build circuit boards 
  • Support data collection and metrics for the Electrical Supply Chain team

For This Role, You Will Need:
  • 2 years technician related experience and 1800 hours of technical education OR 4 years technician related experience and a High School Diploma or GED equivalent
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States - sponsorship will not be provided
     
Preferred Qualifications That Set You Apart:
  • 4 years technician related experience and 1800 hours of technical education
  • Experience in a manufacturing setting

Our compensation philosophy is simple: we pay a competitive base salary, within the local market in which we operate, and reward performance during our annual merit review process. The starting salary for this role is $50,000-64,000 annually, commensurate with the skills, talent, capabilities and experience each candidate brings to a role.
