Join PTM Corporation's Prototype Manufacturing Team

PTM Corporation is looking for an experienced Prototype Press Operator to join our 2nd Shift manufacturing team. This position is responsible for setting up and operating hydraulic and mechanical presses to produce high-quality prototype stampings using a variety of high-strength metals.

This position is for Second Shift only. Applicants must be available to work Monday through Friday from 4:30 PM to 4:30 AM.

Responsibilities

• Safely set up and operate hydraulic and mechanical presses.
• Assemble, install, align, and adjust two-piece dies according to specifications.
• Perform die tryouts while meeting targeted setup completion times.
• Barber dies, including Class A surfaces.
• Spot tooling and perform die adjustments.
• Develop tooling concepts and blank layouts.
• Cut blanks for prototype tooling.
• Produce quality stampings that meet customer specifications and production goals.
• Troubleshoot tooling, presses, and production issues while recommending improvements.
• Inspect finished parts to ensure quality standards are met.
• Identify out-of-tolerance conditions and make necessary machine or die adjustments.
• Coordinate with supervisors and team members to maintain production schedules.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.

Qualifications

Preferred Experience

• Minimum 2 years of press operator experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience with prototype metal stamping and hydraulic press operation.
• Experience setting up and troubleshooting dies.
• Ability to independently operate hydraulic and mechanical presses.
• Experience with die spotting and die tryouts.
• Mechanical aptitude and strong troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to read blueprints and manufacturing drawings.
