What if your work helped keep the lights on and ensured communities have access to clean, reliable water?

Emerson Power & Water Solutions is a global leader in power and water automation, trusted across 60+ countries to support over 1.4 million MW of generating capacity worldwide. In the U.S., our solutions help manage more than 12 billion gallons of water every day through advanced control and monitoring technologies.

As part of Emerson’s Digital Twin Projects team, as a Project Engineer you will contribute to the design and implementation of simulation systems that model real‑world power plant behavior for training, testing, and operational improvement. This role provides meaningful exposure to customer-facing projects, cross‑functional collaboration, and continuous technical development within a supportive, people‑first environment.

If you are passionate about improving how people interact with technology and complex industrial systems, we’d love to hear from you!

In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:

  • Support the design, configuration, and implementation of digital twin simulation systems that meet customer and project requirements.
  • Develop, test, and validate control logic models that accurately replicate real‑world power plant operations in simulated environments.
  • Collaborate closely with process simulation engineers, project managers, and cross‑functional partners to solve problems and share learnings.
  • Participate in customer-facing activities such as simulation validation, performance testing, and acceptance testing.
  • Contribute to global and cross‑disciplinary projects by supporting senior engineers and gaining exposure to multiple engineering domains.
  • Proactively learn simulation tools, automation platforms, and industry standards to support career growth and expanded technical capability.
  • Support the development and improvement of internal tools and processes that enhance the efficiency of digital twin projects.
  • Demonstrate Emerson’s core values through teamwork, accountability, and a commitment to quality and safety in all work.

Who You Are:
You enjoy building something from scratch, anticipating customer needs and provide services that are beyond customer expectations. You deliver messages in a clear, compelling, and concise manner. You consult with multiple and diverse sources when solving problems.

For This Role You Will Need:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, or related technical field, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Minimum 2 years of hands‑on engineering experience, related to process automation, simulation, or controls
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to learn new tools and concepts efficiently
  • Clear and effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team‑oriented environment
  • Ability to travel up to 20%.
  • Authorization to work in the United States without current or future sponsorship requirements. This is not a position for which sponsorship will be provided. Individuals with temporary visas such as E, F-1 (including those with OPT or CPT), H-1, H-2, L-1, B, J or TN, or who need sponsorship for work authorization now or in the future, are not eligible.

Preferred Qualifications That Set You Apart:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering
  • 5 years of engineering experience in automation, simulation, or controls
  • Experience with simulation platforms (e.g., HYSYS, MATLAB, Simulink)
  • Exposure to power generation systems, plant operations or industrial environments
  • Prior experience supporting customer-facing projects, training programs, or technical workshops
  • Interest in continuous learning and staying current with industry advancements in automation, simulation, and control systems
