The Project Controls Engineer (Schedule & Cost) (PCE) duties will vary as required to support the Project and the Project Manager. His/her first responsibility is to ensure the development of the Schedule and of the Budget and implement the control tools effectively on the project. The PCE’s role will concentrate on the continued development of the Schedule and working closely with project team members, which may include project managers, superintendents, and estimators. The PCE will also analyze the cost for the project and assist the project manager in the cost forecasting for the project.

JOB DUTIES:

  •  Development of the CPM Baseline Schedule in Primavera, including:
    • Logically tied activities
    • Resource loading of the schedule activities
    • Integrating subcontractor schedules into the Master Schedule
  • The development of the schedule will entail coordination with the Estimating Team, Project Manager, Project Superintendent, and the Project Engineer.
  • Weekly update of the Schedule and reporting including analysis of any deviations from the plan and providing recommendations of solutions.
  • Running weekly PSC schedule quality filters to ensure the quality of the schedule.
  • Conforming the project Estimate into a Control Budget by cost account and loading it in Ecosys for cost control.
  • Set up in Ecosys the Earned Value Progress for the project.
  • Perform daily field walk downs to verify claimed progress.
  • Perform daily review of craft timesheets for correct cost coding.
  • Perform daily review of Material Requisitions and Subcontracts for correct cost coding.
  • Perform weekly reporting of the Project Cost and Project Progress, providing analysis of any deviations from the budget and recommendations.
  • Schedule, Cost, and Progress reporting sent out weekly.
  • Perform Change Control on the project by keeping the Project Change Log updated accurately, and by reflecting approved change orders in the Project Schedule and Cost Budget.
  • Perform Project Forecasting for the Schedule and Cost at completion.
  • Issue the monthly KPR (Key Project Report) for senior management review.
  • Assist Project Managers in the development of delay claim impacts.
  • Assist Project Managers in the development of recovery schedules.
  • Attend various meetings with customers and with the project team.

 QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS:

  • Five (5) to ten (10) years of project controls (scheduling/cost) experience.
  • Proficient in Primavera P6 scheduling.
  • Ecosys experience preferred but not required.
  • Well-developed written and verbal communication skills.
  • Perform functions efficiently and accurately with little direct supervision.
  • Experience in creating, managing and analyzing construction project schedules.
  • Must be detail-oriented and have the ability to work well within a deadline driven environment.
