Position Summary

The Project Superintendent is responsible for managing, directing, planning, organizing, and carrying out the work of the Rigger performing various rigging and transportation-related activities. This role provides the oversight and necessary planning required to efficiently manage project work plans while ensuring safety, productivity, customer satisfaction, and project profitability.

The Project Superintendent must be capable of receiving work-related assignments, applying sound rigging principles, and examining work and materials for compliance with project specifications.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Conduct and implement a detailed scope of each project, identifying the various project needs and establishing a related project work schedule.
• Manage the day-to-day operational aspects of projects and assigned scopes of work.
• Communicate and coordinate with customers and the office to identify and plan anticipated project scheduling and mobilization of equipment and crew.
• Identify necessary equipment requirements for each project and coordinate with the dispatcher to ensure equipment is promptly delivered to the job site.
• Establish and maintain ongoing communication between the office and customer to ensure proper planning, coordination, and follow-through.
• Maintain accountability for safe work practices, Job Hazard Analysis (JHA), and compliance with industry-related safety training requirements.
• Serve as the single point of contact for the crew and coordinate rigging activities with other site personnel, craftsmen, and customer contacts.
• Act as a mentor to team members to enhance overall team proficiency and operational effectiveness.
• Inspect and manage the work site to monitor progress and ensure conformance with the overall project scope.
• Ensure project documentation is complete, current, accurate, and stored appropriately.
• Support project profitability by providing the necessary oversight, planning, and operational controls.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 10 years of experience with superintendent experience, preferably within the heavy rigging, crane, construction, or heavy trucking industry.
• Preferred experience with Goldhofer or similar hydraulic platform trailers.
• Experience or familiarity with gantry systems, unified jacking systems, strand jacks, and jack-and-slide systems is a plus.
• Must be an outstanding leader who works effectively with customers and co-workers.
• Must be willing to travel.
• Demonstrated strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
• Ability to outline daily work assignments and assign labor resources to various aspects of projects to ensure efficient and effective utilization of equipment and manpower.
• Ability to facilitate the timely completion of daily work assignments.
• Ability to establish and enforce work standards and operating procedures to ensure work is completed in a timely manner and in conformance with established standards, safety practices, and procedures.

Environment & Physical Demands

• Outdoor work environment subject to changing weather conditions.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. repetitively.
