The ideal candidate combines marine engineering or technical systems experience with hands-on project management and understands how to take complex yacht service, repair, and refit projects from initial scope through final delivery.
Responsibilities:
- Manage complex yacht service, repair, and refit projects from scope through completion
- Develop project scopes, estimates, budgets, schedules, and work plans
- Provide technical oversight and help troubleshoot complex vessel systems
- Coordinate mechanical, propulsion, electrical, plumbing, hydraulic, and other technical work
- Manage internal trades, engineers, technicians, subcontractors, vendors, and suppliers
- Work directly with yacht owners, captains, crews, surveyors, and technical representatives
- Monitor project costs, schedules, quality, and resource allocation
- Translate technical requirements into actionable work scopes for trades teams
- Identify engineering and technical issues and coordinate solutions
- Ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to a high standard
Qualifications:
- Engineering or strong technical background highly preferred
- Degree in Marine Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Naval Architecture, or a related discipline preferred
- Project management experience within yacht service, yacht refit, boatbuilding, shipbuilding, or marine manufacturing
- Strong understanding of marine systems, propulsion, mechanical systems, electrical systems, hydraulics, and vessel construction
- Experience managing technically complex projects, budgets, schedules, vendors, and trades
- Strong customer-facing and communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced yard environment
