Job Description:
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented mechanical Project Manager specializing in sheet metal manufacturing to join our team. In this role, you will serve as the technical expert for client projects, interpreting drawings, developing 3D models, and planning fabrication processes. You will manage key accounts from quotation to delivery, ensuring smooth communication between clients and production. Duties And Responsibilities:
- Process client orders in ERP, which requires:
- a. Read and interpret client drawings and specifications.b. Create accurate 3D models and shop drawings using AutoCAD or Autodesk Inventor.c. Develop bills of material (BOMs) for various client projects.d. Perform process engineering tasks, including selecting fabrication methods, routing, and sequencing across laser cutting, forming, welding, finishing, and other manufacturing processes.
- Prepare accurate quotes within the ERP system based on client requests.
- Maintain logs of design time and BOMs for project tracking.
- Serve as the primary contact for assigned key accounts, managing communication and expectations.
- Coordinate with production teams to ensure schedules are met.
- Communicate regularly with clients regarding quotes, order updates, and production questions.
- Occasionally travel to client facilities as needed.
Qualification and Requirements:
- Mechanical Engineering degree or equivalent hands-on experience in sheet metal fabrication.
- 3-5 years of experience with drafting and 3D modeling software such as AutoCAD or Inventor in a manufacturing environment.
- Proven project management experience handling projects of various sizes, from small custom parts to large OEM orders.
- Experience reading sheet metal drawings and developing accurate bills of material.
- Working knowledge of fabrication processes including laser cutting, press brake/forming, welding, and finishing to support process engineering, estimating, and order processing.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; comfortable collaborating with production teams, clients, and management.
- Strong attention to detail, punctuality, and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work independently and proactively while contributing effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
- Proficiency with MS Office applications (Outlook, Excel, Word).
- Experience using ERP systems for quoting, order processing, and inventory control.
- Competence in using calipers, tape measures, and other quality control tools.
