We welcome Dynavac to the Weiss Technik Family!  This partnership further expands our business in the vast Aerospace & Defense industry and offer customers a wider range of products and services to meet their testing needs. 

Dynavac is in search of a Project Manager to join our Program Management team at our Hingham, MA headquarters. The successful candidate will have the necessary skills and experience to successfully organize and lead cross-functional project teams and serve as the main customer interface on the design and fabrication of Dynavac products. The Project Manager is responsible for project organization, scheduling, communications and budget, while overseeing the design, procurement, fabrication, installation and test of customer systems. Will simultaneously manage multiple projects in various stages of completion some of which are multi-year projects. 

Dynavac is an engineering and manufacturing company that builds custom high vacuum process capital equipment for a range of applications that include aerospace testing and thin film coatings. Work orders are project based, typically unique, and range in size and scope from < $50,000 to $20MM +. Typical systems require a broad range of technical disciplines including: 

  • Design and fabrication of medium to large scale pressure vacuum vessels 
  • Design and assembly of complex mechanisms and material-handling systems 
  • Field integration of shop-built components

We build capital equipment in a manufacturing environment - our Project Managers work on-site in order to monitor their projects in process at our Hingham MA facility. 

Compensation is commensurate to experience and is negotiable.  Dynavac offers competitive bonus and benefit plans.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS 

  • Assume overall responsibility for management of projects from design through fabrication, installation and testing. 
  • Provide project leadership to ensure team members are communicating effectively to meet milestones. 
  • Coordinate design reviews and program update meetings with customer, engineering and manufacturing teams 
  • Provide project leadership to all groups within the organization. 
  • Regularly provide customer with project status updates and maintain interface to the customer for overall progress including schedule and major deliverables such as design reviews or documentation. 
  • Develop and maintain project schedule in Microsoft Project. 
  • Maintain project budget to assure successful cost objectives. 
  • Manage resource conflicts and assure the project has adequate resources assigned to meet the project schedule. 
  • Manage multiple programs in various phases of development and manufacturing. 
  • Monitor materials for procurement to ensure on-time delivery for manufacturing 
  • Coordinate factory acceptance testing by customer; delivery and installation at customer site; and final acceptance testing by customer. 
  • Manage customer milestone payments to assure timely billing. 
  • Travel as needed for customer design reviews, installation and testing. 
  • Evaluate customer change order requests to assess engineering, cost, performance & time considerations. 
  • Ensure that the product design conforms to budget and specification.

U.S. CITIZENSHIP REQUIRED

EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION & SKILLS 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or similar
  • Minimum 3 years' project management experience in a manufacturing environment or construction management; background in vacuum technology a plus 
  • Construction of systems in the field a plus 
  • Demonstrated success in successfully managing multiple, complex, expensive projects to completion 
  • Strong organizational skills 
  • Demonstrated proficiency in both oral and written communication 
  • Experience interfacing directly with customers 
  • Knowledge of technical and administrative aspects of all phases of project management, including management of information systems used to develop project plans. 
  • Experience in Microsoft Project

WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Normal office environment for the majority of the workday.  Occasional exposure to manufacturing hazards.
