Job Overview:

Summary/Objective

*A Project Manager in the aerospace jig and fixture industry oversees the entire lifecycle of tooling projects, from design and development to production readiness, ensuring they meet stringent technical, quality, and regulatory standards

**. The role requires a blend of strong project management skills, technical expertise in manufacturing and engineering, and a deep understanding of the aerospace environment.

Key Responsibilities

Project Planning and Management: Develop comprehensive project plans, define project scope, objectives, and deliverables, and establish detailed timelines and milestones using project management software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera P6).

·

Budget & Resource Management: Efficiently allocate resources, including personnel and materials, manage budgets, track costs, and ensure projects are completed within financial constraints.

·

Technical Oversight & Quality Assurance: Ensure all tooling designs and manufacturing processes meet technical specifications, quality standards (such as AS9100), and regulatory requirements. This includes reviewing technical documentation, drawings, and engineering specifications.

Risk Management: Proactively identify potential risks (technical, supply chain, regulatory) and implement effective mitigation strategies to prevent project delays or failures.

·

Stakeholder Communication: Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, vendors, and internal leadership, providing regular updates on project status, risks, and performance metrics.

Team Leadership & Coordination: Lead and motivate cross-functional teams, fostering a collaborative environment to ensure all moving parts are aligned toward common objectives.

Problem-Solving & Continuous Improvement: Address technical issues and unforeseen challenges as they arise, and drive continuous improvement initiatives using methodologies like Lean or Six Sigma to enhance efficiency and reduce defects.

Required Qualifications

Experience: Proven experience in project management within the aerospace manufacturing or tooling industry. Experience levels typically range from 5–10 years for mid-level managers to 10+ years for senior roles.

Technical Skills: Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, jig and fixture design principles, geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T), and the ability to read technical drawings. Proficiency with CAD software (e.g., CATIA, SolidWorks) is beneficial.

Certifications: Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is highly desirable. Certifications in AS9100 quality management or Lean/Six Sigma are also valuable.

Soft Skills: Exceptional leadership, communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills are essential for success in this demanding, highly regulated environment.
