Project Manager - Specific to Confidential Project in Boyers, PA - Onsite 4-5 Days/Week

What this job involves:

Executing technical operations and project delivery in data center environments, supporting client objectives and organizational standards. This role focuses on hands-on project execution, technical coordination, and collaboration with cross-functional teams to deliver facility and capital projects successfully.

Your day-to-day tasks will include:

  • Execute project deliverables by applying project management methodologies to manage scope, quality, schedule, budget, resources, and risk. Support the establishment of project goals and success criteria aligned with client requirements.

  • Support technical services operations in data center environments, contributing to operational plans that enhance efficiency and service delivery. Assist in department operations to maintain consistent performance standards.

  • Collaborate with client stakeholders throughout project lifecycles, coordinating with various parties to minimize facility disruptions and maintain alignment with project objectives. Build positive working relationships across the organization.

  • Support technical services team development through mentoring and knowledge sharing. Contribute to a collaborative team culture that promotes engagement and continuous improvement.

  • Identify potential opportunities for scope expansion within assigned projects and communicate findings to senior leadership.

  • Administer prime and trade contracts (electrical, mechanical, controls, fire protection, structural, and general trades) through complex, phased, and overlapping delivery.

  • Stay current on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices to support continuous improvement in technical operations and service delivery.

  • Perform comprehensive field assessments including onsite electrical equipment evaluations, operational testing, and commissioning activities. Conduct regular inspections of buildings and equipment to identify maintenance and repair needs, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and industry best practices. Supervise electrical equipment maintenance, testing activities, and contractor work to ensure quality standards are met.

  • Manage the entire project lifecycle including planning, budgeting, scheduling, and resource allocation. Develop and maintain detailed project schedules, track progress against milestones, and ensure deliverables are completed within established timelines and budget constraints. Assist in cost estimation, procurement of materials, and implementation of cost

  • control measures throughout project execution. Review and approve project expenses, change orders, and payment applications as needed.

  • Collaborate on designing project plans, specifications, and engineering drawings using CAD software. Ensure all designs comply with applicable codes, regulations, and industry standards. Provide technical expertise in building systems including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire safety systems, and reliable power systems (UPS, batteries, emergency generators, transfer switches, switchgear, and distributed generation).

  • Coordinate with client, contractors, and vendors to oversee equipment installation, testing, and maintenance events. Identify potential safety issues, and any impacts to equipment and site operations. Prepare detailed MOP’s necessary to execute the events.

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for project-related communication with internal and external stakeholders, including clients, contractors, vendors, and regulatory authorities. Coordinate with vendors and suppliers to negotiate contracts and monitor service delivery. Review and analyze project contracts, specifications, and terms to ensure compliance throughout execution. Facilitate regular progress meetings and provide timely project updates.

  • Establish and enforce quality control procedures to ensure project standards are consistently met. Identify potential project risks and develop proactive mitigation strategies to minimize disruptions or delays. Conduct thorough risk assessments and implement monitoring and control measures. Resolve complex technical issues and provide recommendations for continuous improvement.

  • Prepare comprehensive reports and documentation including maintenance schedules, equipment logs, service records, project budgets, and technical specifications. Maintain accurate project documentation to ensure compliance and facilitate informed decision-making. Stay current with industry trends and identify opportunities to enhance technical services delivery.

Desired experience and technical skills:

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in construction management, Engineering, or a related technical field.

  • 5+ years of construction project management experience in data center, industrial, or other mission-critical environments, with demonstrated ownership of full project delivery on large, complex, high-value projects.

  • Experience implementing operational processes that improve efficiency and service quality.

  • Direct oversight of trade contractors (electrical, mechanical, generator, controls, structural) in active, energized construction settings.

  • Strong team collaboration skills with ability to work effectively in cross-functional environments.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with ability to engage effectively across organizational levels with external clients.

  • Advanced proficiency with project management, scheduling, and financial management software.

  • Demonstrated knowledge of Data Center MEP systems, critical power/cooling infrastructure, and commissioning standards (NFPA, ASHRAE) across the full range of data center system types.

  • Exceptional communication, negotiation, and executive-level presentation and reporting skills; comfortable as the primary face of the project to the most demanding clients.

  • Working knowledge of data center operations, industry standards, and technologies in facilities management.

  • Sound understanding of engineering and construction principles. Strong knowledge of building systems and equipment including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and fire safety systems. Proficiency in project management software and tools. Experience with computer-aided design (CAD) software, AutoCAD, or other drafting software. Familiarity with facilities management software systems.

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities with capacity to identify complex issues, resolve technical challenges, and propose practical solutions.

  • Availability to travel up to 50% overall

Preferred:

  • Professional certifications such as PE, EIT, PMP, CCM, CDCP®, or DCDC®.

  • Experience with design-build, EPC, or accelerated/parallelized schedule delivery models on large-scale projects.

  • Experience leading speed-to-market delivery for colocation operators or hyperscale clients where aggressive timelines are a core business requirement.

  • Familiarity with UPS systems, generators, switchgears, chillers, CRAC/CRAH units, BMS networks, and alternative cooling technologies across a broad range of capacity scales.

  • Strong understanding of electrical and mechanical systems, testing, and commissioning protocols for 24/7 mission-critical operations.

  • Experience managing multiple concurrent or geographically distributed sites at the highest complexity and financial exposure.

  • Demonstrated ability to manage and recover projects under significant financial, schedule, or technical stress.

  • Commitment to professional development and continuous improvement in mission-critical construction delivery.
