Who You'll Work With

At Design Group, you'll collaborate with experienced leaders, technical specialists, and subject matter experts to solve complex challenges for some of the world's leading companies. You'll join a growing team of more than 1,500 professionals across 45 U.S. offices where you'll be empowered to make an impact, develop your expertise, and grow your career.


What You'll Do

In this role, you'll lead controls and automation projects and support the growth of the local and regional business. You'll work closely with clients, technical professionals, recruiting, finance, office partners, and regional partners to deliver automation solutions and strengthen project execution. This position plays an important role in customer satisfaction, technical quality, team development, and strategic business growth.

  • Lead project work involving hardware and panel design, PLC and HMI programming, SCADA design, power distribution design, and associated documentation
  • Manage proposals, estimates, schedules, resources, staffing, contracts, order processing, quality control, customer satisfaction, and project setup
  • Grow the local and regional controls and automation business and maintain relationships with key client contacts
  • Guide technical professionals through mentoring, feedback, training, and career development
  • Develop annual vision plans and support strategic business planning for the controls and automation group
  • Partner with recruiting to identify and hire controls and automation professionals
  • Participate in councils that oversee and adopt firmwide standards
  • Provide quarterly reporting to office and regional partners
  • Coordinate with finance to support accurate reporting of controls and automation group activities
  • Maintain appropriate use of company facilities, plant, and equipment

What You'll Bring


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or another engineering discipline supported by relevant experience
  • Ten or more years of experience developing and delivering automation solutions for consumer products or industrial clients
  • Experience designing electrical control systems and programming automation systems for process applications
  • Proficiency with Rockwell hardware and software solutions
  • Ability to travel for project installation, startup, client meetings, company meetings, training, seminars, forums, and conventions

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Rockwell, Siemens, or GE software and hardware
  • Experience in food and beverage, life sciences, or another industrial manufacturing sector
