Job Summary

The Project Manager will be the main point of contact from Regal Rexnord/Automation Solutions to our many customers. The Project Manager is responsible for developing a definition of the project and ensuring the project is delivered on time, within budget and to the required quality standard (within agreed specifications). This position will also ensure the project is effectively resourced and will manage relationships with a wide range of groups (including all project contributors).

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Coordinate internal resources and third party vendors for project execution 
  2. Act as the single point of contact and be accountable for project results 
  3. Participate in internal inspection and ensure all shipments meet and exceed the customer expectation. 
  4. Assume the project management responsibilities for assigned projects, which includes tracking the project's performance to budget, scope, schedule, quality and assistance during customer visits. 
  5. Prepare the Sales Order Digest (information that is required for engineering and manufacturing to proceed) for all projects with PM responsibilities that are awarded.
  6. Keep the customer and Arrowhead Systems (AHS) management informed on progress and roadblocks to the schedule.
  7. Responsible for leading project team meetings. 
  8. Manage project scope by ensuring any changes to scope are documented and approved with project change request paperwork.  
  9. Resolve any issues and solve problems throughout the project life cycle.
  10. Manage factory acceptance testing (FAT) process – internal and external. 
  11. Complete a post-project evaluation to determine how well results were achieved 
  12. Ensure all project documents are properly filed.
  13. Communicate with Applications Engineer regarding approval for change orders. 
  14. Define and manage project risk.
  15. Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation including action item lists.
  16. Ensure that payment terms, schedule and milestones all match the proposal and can be accomplished.
  17. Review and address any documents that are not part of the original RFQ package.
  18. Provide updated schedules to be discussed at weekly meetings. 
  19. Review production schedule before weekly production meetings to ensure all departments are on schedule. 
  20. Fill out action item list in SOD during the PDR and Excel action item list during technical review. 
  21. Responsible for completing detailed meeting minutes using template and publish to group. 
  22. Set up meetings on production floor for project when released from Engineering
  23. Manage all scope requests from customer and work with Applications to create scope change documents and costs as needed. 
  24. Review all internal ECN's and costs.
  25. Provide a report at the production meeting on any overages in costs on projects. 
  26. Meet with manufacturing to ensure that the product is available for testing/FAT. 
  27. Run equipment and test all product for speed and operation.
  28. Work with customer to create agenda for FAT. Send all required documents to customer prior to arrival on-site. 
  29. Approve teardown and shipment with customer and internal team.
  30. Work with A&B to develop the install schedule, if applicable. 
  31. Perform all other duties and responsibilities as assigned

Language Skills

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

 

Mathematical Skills

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

 

Reasoning Ability

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

 

Computer Skills

Proficient personal computer skills including electronic mail, record keeping, routine database activity, word processing, spreadsheet, graphics, etc.

 

Other Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Handle multiple projects simultaneously.

Education and Experience

3-5 years of Project Management or engineering experience in industrial automation (food and beverage conveyor preferred); experience with ERP, CRM and scheduling software, Project Management certification a plus.

Minimal overnight travel (up to 10%) by land and/or air.
