Role Overview
The Project Manager is the primary owner of assigned customer projects from purchase order through final acceptance. This role serves as the single point of accountability for project scope, schedule, cost, quality, and customer satisfaction while coordinating cross-functional teams and external partners to deliver automation solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary technical and commercial customer contact from purchase order through final sign-off.
- Own execution of a portfolio of concurrent projects with varying scope, complexity, timelines, and budgets.
- Define, communicate, and maintain project scope internally and externally.Monitor and document all internal or external changes.
- Develop and maintain detailed project schedules, budgets, and execution plans.
- Proactively identify, document, and manage project risks, issues, and changes.
- Lead internal and customer-facing project kickoff, status, and closeout meetings.
- Prepare and deliver clear, timely project status reports to customers and internal leadership.
- Manage change order development, pricing, approval, and execution.
- Forecast project cost and schedule performance; identify and escalate deviations early.
- Coordinate closely with engineering, production control, assembly, installation, and commissioning teams to ensure execution alignment.
- Ensure technical issues are resolved in a timely manner and communicated effectively to stakeholders.
- Manage scope, schedule, and cost for third-party vendors, integrators, and subcontractors.
- Support system integration efforts across multiple automation platforms and software environments.
- Ensure compliance with internal quality, safety, and documentation standards.
- Actively participate in PMO-led continuous improvement initiatives to improve execution efficiency and predictability.
- Travel up to 25% (including international travel) as required.
Qualification requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, or related field, or equivalent experience.
- 5+ years of project management experience in industrial, manufacturing, automation, or systems integration environments.
- Demonstrated experience managing customer-facing, technically complex projects.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Project, Excel, Word, and Power Point.
- Experience managing third-party suppliers and integrators.
- Strong understanding of project financials including budgets, forecasts, margin, and change management.
- Experience coordinating resources across multiple disciplines.
- PMP certification preferred.
