Job Overview:
JOB SUMMARY
The Project Manager is responsible for all Capex projects at the facility from initial idea to full execution. They will support the overall facility operations and management with a Capex budget for the creation and expansion of the facility. This position is critical to the expansion of the processing plant and achievement of the strategic vision.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Manages the facility’s Capex budget for the year
Assists the maintenance department in achieving goals through Capex projects
Is the liaison and Company representative for outside contractors, supplies, and vendors
Able to request proposals/agreements and be able to negotiate with outside contractors and vendors on costs and schedules
Able to manage multiple Capex projects at one time, all with varying budget amounts
Ability to prioritize company needs
Maintain a high attention to detail with strong communication skills
Maintain all Capex documents related to all projects
Ability to support and direct a team
Ability to draft detailed scopes of work and designs, and the entire process related to a Capex project
Able to identify areas/processes within projects that will save money to reduce unnecessary spending
AutoCAD, Microsoft Office Suite and drafting experience
Fosters a culture of safety awareness through correct maintenance processes and hold contractors accounting to a high level of safety
Follow the plant’s continuous improvement process and plan
Direct reports for this position: Project Superintendent, Project Coordinator & four Projects and Facilities crew
All other duties as assigned
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
Must have a bachelor’s of science in Engineering: Mechanical, Civil, Industrial etc.
Must have at least 5 years of experience managing projects or project management, preferably in a beef processing facility
Experience managing high levels of Capex
Experience working with project management system (Microsoft project, Monday.com, Asana or similar)
Must have time flexibility to work on holidays or weekends as needed
Ability to make sound decisions and while under pressure
