AD/S specializes in the design and fabrication of signs, displays, and fixtures. From the gleaming monolith that lights up the night sky to wayfinding signage that guides you through the airports, hospitals, and resorts. We are seeking an experienced individual to be a part of our team!
 
 

Job Purpose: 

The purpose of the PMDP is to equip our future project managers with the specific skills, tools, and knowledge needed to successfully manage signage projects from concept to installation. Our industry has unique characteristics - custom fabrication, tight deadlines, permitting challenges, consistency, and coordination with construction teams - which require targeted project management capabilities to ensure performance to budget, quality assurance, on time delivery and customer satisfaction.

The Project Management Development Program (PMDP) is a 2-year commitment. You will report to an experienced project manager. You will also be assigned a mentor, and an executive sponsor. Your direct supervisor, the project manager, will support your professional growth and work with you on day-to-day, tactical tasks. Your mentor and executive sponsor will ensure personal development and provide a strategic outlook. This position was created to help us develop future leaders of our company. We want to make sure that upon graduation you will be able to handle the technical, logistical, and client-facing challenges of signage projects while driving quality, speed, and profitability, or perhaps even manage your own team!

TIMEFRAME

Year 1. You will act as a project coordinator by supporting the Project Management team. Your mentor and executive sponsors will provide you with 2-3 strategic assignments with clear goals, objectives and deliverables. 

Some key responsibilities of the project coordinator include:

  • Assist Project Managers in all phases of signage projects, from initiation to completion, including accurate ERP (Acumatica) processing.
  • Maintain and organize project files, documentation, and databases.
  • Prepare meeting agendas, take minutes, and follow up on action items.
  • Assist in generating project status reports and other relevant documentation.
  • Track install progress through PlanGrid.
  • Assist with data entry and analysis related to project performance.
  • Submit drawings to design board.
  • Request and review site surveys, forward to design department.
  • Issue purchase order requests based on direction from the Project Manager.
  • Create and submit production (RTP) and installation (RTI) work orders.

Year 2. You will act as an assistant project manager. You will be entrusted with managing your own projects under the supervision of an experienced project manager. Some key responsibilities of the assistant project manager include:

  • Continue to support your project manager, mentor and executive sponsor. 
  • Represent AD/S at customer meetings and construction sites. 
  • Knowledge of job safety analysis, quality manual, permitting and signage code requirements.
  • Performance to budget tracking and report outs.
  • Change order management.
  • Demonstrate a solid understanding of accounting principles in project management.
  • Collaboration with sales executives on customer relationships and satisfaction.
  • Ability to self-sufficiently manage projects from the beginning to the end.
