Project Engineer – Food Manufacturing

Location:Greater Research Triangle Region, NC

Compensation:Targeting $90,000–$110,000k + bonus + strong benefits (4 weeks PTO, 401k match)

A fast-growing food production facility in the Southeast is hiring a Project Engineer to support capital projects, continuous improvement, and facility upgrades. This is a full-time, onsite opportunity with long-term visibility and a steady flow of project work.

You’ll tackle projects like:

• Planning and overseeing installation of buffer and discharge belts on packaging lines

• Supporting expansion of production areas and related infrastructure

• Implementing new mechanical or electrical systems for efficiency and throughput

• Collaborating with cross-functional teams to lead or support technical improvements

We’re looking for someone with:

• 2+ years of experience in food, CPG, or consumer goods manufacturing

• Background in electro-mechanical or electrical engineering

• Experience managing projects from scope through implementation

• Hands-on knowledge of packaging lines, pneumatics, and automation systems

• Strong problem-solving skills and a structured approach to technical challenges

Nice to have:

• CAD and MS Project familiarity

• Lean, Six Sigma, or PMP training

• Some travel flexibility for coordination with other facilities (domestic/international)
