Job Overview:

Principle responsibilities:

· Work independently, as assigned, to support the Center’s outreach and development projects.

· Support efforts of the director to pursue funding opportunities for projects directed by the Agribusiness Center.

· Assist with strategic planning and budgeting.

· Responsible for accurate and timely budget maintenance for all accounts in conjunction with appropriate University departments and grants, including check requests, purchase order requests, invoice submission, credit card reconciliations, and other financial-related tasks.

· Develop new reports and update existing reports as required for institutional purposes and grant reporting.

· Assist, as necessary, to develop and sustain partnerships with various internal and external stakeholders.

· Will work with director on the development and maintenance of facilities and projects which will improve the learning environment for students and outreach efforts to the agricultural community.

Essential Background, Qualifications, Experience, and Skills

· Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel

· Proficiency in use of technology including web-based software, computer systems, file sharing, and others.

· Fast learner

· Possess strong interpersonal skills and work well with diverse audiences

· Possess understanding of the importance of confidentiality and attention to detail

· Outstanding written and verbal communication skills are critical to the success of this position.

· Excellent critical thinking and problem solving skills

· Capable of completing projects in a timely manner and ability to work independently or as a team to accomplish goals of Center

Education or training requirement:

· Required: Associate’s Degree in business, accounting, or a related discipline and at least two years of budget management experience is required,

· Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in business, accounting, or a related field as well as experience with state, federal, and private grant reporting.

· This position requires strong organizational skills, excellent communication and computer skills, and the ability to work independently as well as with a team.
