General Information/Job Summary
The Project Controls Manager is required to oversee a project controls staff as well as provide comprehensive cost control, reports and forecasts for both the project team and the client.
Responsibilities/Competencies
- Develop and maintain multiple project cost reports (both internal & client) on a weekly basis.
- Develop and maintain multiple reports on weekly and monthly labor progress and performance reports (both internal and client), project cost tracking reports for indirect labor, rental equipment, and subcontracts.
- Assist with development and maintenance of change management system including change orders, budget shifts, and trends including contingency management.
- Timely and accurate forward-looking analysis and mitigation plan development to reduce or eliminate unforeseen cost impacts.
- Actively participate in reviews of all project controls deliverables with the project team.
- Assist management in forecasting the project expected costs for monthly reporting purposes.
- Develop and maintain budgets in progress tracking tool.
- Assist with auditing payroll coding on a weekly basis.
- Perform data audits to ensure accuracy of information.
- Liaison with the procurement and billing departments
- Make costs corrections.
- Understand earned value management systems.
- Manage and oversee Project Controls Staff including a scheduler and a team that will be utilized in the development of work packages and tracking progress.
Requirements
- Min 4-5 years of experience in Project Controls.
- Possess thorough working knowledge of scheduling and costing principles.
- Proficiency in MS Office and Primavera is required.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
