Project Accountant

Pay Rate:Up to $27/hour

Schedule:Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM

Position Summary

Express Employment Professionals are seeking a detail-oriented and experiencedProject Accountantto support our construction operations. This role is responsible for managing financial aspects of multiple projects, including job costing, billing processes, and compliance with contract documentation. The ideal candidate will have strong construction accounting experience and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform detailedjob costingincluding labor, materials, and subcontractor expenses
• Prepare and manageprogress billings (AIA)and track retainage
• Enter, process, and trackchange orders
• Handleaccounts payable (AP)andaccounts receivable (AR)functions
• Manage and collectunconditional lien waivers
• Generatejob cost reportsand assist with project forecasting
• Supportcash flow tracking, payroll allocation, andproject closeouts
• Ensure compliance with contracts, financial documentation, and company policies

Required Qualifications

• 3+ years of construction accounting experience

• Proven experience in accounting roles with strong understanding of financial principles

• Hands-on experience with:- Progress billings and AIA billing

  • Change order entry
  • Unconditional lien waivers
  • Job costing and reporting

• Proficiency inSage 300orTrimble Spectrumaccounting software (preferred)

• AdvancedExceland accounting software skills

• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail

• Excellent communication and organizational skills

• Ability to manage multiple projects in a deadline-driven, fast-paced environment
