Job Overview:

Job Description

You may not always see our work, but it’s always there. In Air Transport Systems, we focus on the avionics behind the world’s fleet of regional, business, and large commercial aircraft from the leading aircraft manufacturers in the market.  We develop and manufacturer state-of-the-art flight control systems, cabin equipment, and aircraft cockpit avionics for a diverse global customer base advancing our missions: “We Protect Those Who Protect Us®” and “We Innovate For Those Who Move The World®.”

We are seeking an experienced Program Manager to lead key initiatives within the Air Transport product line, with a strong focus on flight controls, and other safety‑critical aerospace systems. In this role, you will drive cross‑functional program execution from concept through certification and delivery, ensuring alignment with technical requirements, regulatory standards, customer expectations, and business objectives.

As the primary interface between engineering, operations, supply chain, quality, and our external customers, you will coordinate complex development activities associated with high‑integrity control systems. Responsibilities include program planning, requirements management, risk mitigation, earned value management, resource coordination, financial oversight, and schedule adherence—all while maintaining our rigorous standards for safety, compliance, and product reliability

The ideal candidate brings strong technical acumen in aviation control systems and demonstrated leadership managing safety‑critical development programs governed by standards such as ARP4754, DO‑178, and DO‑254. Success in this role requires proactive communication, structured problem‑solving, and the ability to guide multidisciplinary teams through technical challenges and certification activities typical of flight‑critical environments.

As a key leader in the Air Transport product line, you will contribute to strategic planning, support customer and regulatory engagements, and ensure delivery of high‑quality, certifiable solutions that strengthen our competitive position and drive long‑term product growth.

BAE Systems is a world leader in flight‑critical controls and avionics and is experiencing significant growth. Accordingly, we seek highly capable Program Managers with experience leading complex programs and portfolios throughout the project lifecycle. Selected individuals will maintain strong customer relationships and lead multidisciplinary teams to execute challenging programs on time and within budget

Our flexible work environment empowers you to make a meaningful impact—shaping the future of aviation while maintaining a healthy work–life balance. If this sounds like the kind of team you want to join, come grow your career with us.

Location: This position is based in Endicott, New York.
