REPORTING RELATIONSHIP

1.1 Reports to the Manager of Program Development.


2. PURPOSE AND DUTIES

2.1 Purpose

2.1.1 Champions the implementation of production launches for new and existing products/product lines.

2.1.2 Leads cross-functional teams to meet program launch milestones, budgets, and completion of activities within established timelines.

2.1.3 Tracks, measures, and reports new launch progress, including regular status reporting for management reviews.

2.2 Authority

2.2.1 The Program Manager is empowered to execute the dictates of the JCS Gate system working through and with all disciplines in the organization. The Program Manager has broad authority to exercise independence and initiative within Company goals.


3. RESPONSIBILITIES

3.1 Manages complex program launches from a multi-disciplinary standpoint to ensure program goals and objectives are met; including product cost, launch budget, and milestone/event timing.

3.2 Prepares, maintains, tracks, and reviews key APQP documentation, including Open Issues, Program Schedules, Budgets, PD/Gate Meeting Checklists.

3.3 Leads cross-functional activities to resolve issues, problems, and concerns that impact program goals and objectives; establishes corrective actions and assists in prioritizing resources.

3.4 Provides day-to-day technical and professional coordination of Plant resources in the execution of program objectives.

3.5 Creates, evaluates and modifies procedures to ensure that programs are delivered with the highest levels of safety, quality, cost and efficiency.

3.6 Responsible for timely APQP and audit all launch activities in accordance with the JCS Gate system, including project milestones, timelines, open issues, cost/budget, and tracking of documents.

3.7 Effectively manages product cost and profit, as well as overall program launch budgets in accordance with defined goals and objectives.

3.8 Prepares status reports/summaries and conducts regular program reviews with core teams and management via ECO, Launch Open Issues, PD, and Gate meetings; as well as updates/reviews with customers and/or other JCS groups.

3.9 Responsible for tracking and measuring performance against program objectives: PPAP, Profit/Loss, Spending Budgets, Engineering Changes, Prototypes, Timelines, Quotes, Budget Tracking.

3.10 Coordinates preparation and submission of customer specific documents, such as APQP forms, program schedules, tooling records, etc.

3.11 Serves as principal point of contact and liaison with sales and customers on matters relating to the program. Applies knowledge of strategic planning, resource allocation, budgets, production methods and coordination of people and resources.

3.12 Coordinates design reviews, Make/Buy analysis, Design for Manufacturing reviews.

3.13 Utilizes established QMS procedures, work instructions, and forms; and adopt changes or improvements as necessary.

3.14 Other duties as assigned.

5. SUPERVISOR RESPONSIBILITY

5.1 Direct Relationships:

5.1.1 This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

5.2 Indirect Relationships:

5.2.1 Will interface with all functional areas of the JCSNA organization, including plant level core teams, engineering, sales, finance, purchasing, quality, manufacturing, production control, upper management.

5.2.2 Will interface with suppliers and customers.

5.2.3 Will interface with other JCS and/or JTEKT Global affiliates.


6. WORK ENVIRONMENT

This position operates in a manufacturing facility and professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment. This position periodically will require time in manufacturing, prototype, or test lab environments. While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Minimum requirement to lift 32 pounds and pass a routine physical (pre hire) test.

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS

7.1 High School Diploma or equivalent.

7.2 Associates Degree, or five years related program management experience

7.3 Excellent written / verbal communication and organizational skills

7.4 Good leadership and personal relationship skills

7.5 Self-motivated, Team Player

7.6 Proficient in Microsoft Office applications – especially Excel, Power Point, Project

7.7 AS 400 or other ERP/MRP database experience.

7.8 PMP certification or demonstrated equivalent experience.


8 PHYSICAL DEMANDS

8.1 Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

8.2 Must be able to lift 32 pounds at times.

8.3 Must be able to access and navigate each department at the organization’s facilities.

8.4 The employee is occasionally required to walk and reach with hands and arms.

8.5 the employee is regularly required to stand; sit; use hands to handle, or feel and talk or hear.


9 POSITION TYPE/EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK

This is a full-time position. Regular office hours are Monday through Friday. This position regularly requires extended hours, including some weekend.


10 TRAVEL

Travel to vendor and customer worksites may be required. Regular travel between JCSNA locations will be required. Overseas travel may also be required.
