This is NOT a building maintenance or facilities maintenance position.
We are hiring an experienced Industrial/Manufacturing Maintenance Technician to maintain and repair the manufacturing equipment that keeps our production lines running safely and efficiently. Please read the entire posting before applying.
If you're the type of person who enjoys diagnosing problems, repairing equipment, and figuring out how things work, we'd like to meet you.
Every repair you make directly impacts our ability to process products used in the industries, such as medical, aerospace, defense, industrial, and commercial .
Most people have never heard of the metal finishing industry before joining us—and that's okay. We'll teach you our equipment, processes, and industry. What we can't teach is reliability, mechanical aptitude, critical thinking, a willingness to learn, and pride in doing quality work.
We're looking for someone who wants to build a career—not simply find their next job.
Please apply only if the following describes you:
- You have experience maintaining manufacturing or production equipment.
- You enjoy troubleshooting mechanical and electrical problems rather than simply replacing parts.
- You have dependable attendance and understand that production depends on employees showing up every day and on time.
- You can read and follow written instructions, work orders, repair manuals, schematics, and technical drawings.
- You take pride in repairing equipment correctly, safely, and efficiently.
- You enjoy learning new equipment and continuously improving your skills.
- You're comfortable working in an active manufacturing environment that includes heat, humidity, dust, noise, and moving equipment.
- You're looking for long-term employment with opportunities to grow.
- You understand that personal mobile devices are secured during working hours and may only be accessed during scheduled breaks in designated areas due to customer and security requirements.
- You are available to participate in an in-person interview in Minnesota. We do not conduct virtual interviews.
As an Industrial Maintenance Technician, you'll help maximize production uptime by maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, and improving the equipment used throughout our manufacturing operation.
You'll work closely with production employees to quickly resolve equipment issues while helping prevent future downtime through preventive maintenance and continuous improvement initiatives.
Occasional evening or weekend on-call support may be required.
The people who excel in this position are dependable problem-solvers who enjoy keeping equipment running.
Successful candidates typically:
We invest in employees who invest in their careers.
Many of our employees started with strong mechanical skills but little or no knowledge of metal finishing.
They stayed because they found stable employment, opportunities to learn, supportive coworkers, meaningful work, and the chance to build long-term careers.
Whether your goal is becoming the equipment expert, a trainer, Lead, Supervisor, Manager, or moving into another department, we'll provide opportunities to continue growing.
We appreciate your interest in Avtec Finishing and look forward to meeting candidates who are ready to build a long-term career with our team.
