We are looking for Production Team Lead to support our team at our corporate location in Cincinnati, Ohio.
Summary:
The Team Leader is responsible for motivating assembly team members while ensuring the team is efficiently executing their specific role in the assembly process, whether, for example, this is the direct assembly of product, inventory management or logistics support. As the go-to person for all assigned team members, a Team Leader creates goals, strategies, and guidelines that will be carried out by the team. A Team Leader is responsible for training assigned team members for the work assigned. The Team Leader also ensures all company policies and health and safety practices are being followed.
Essential Duties:
- Conducts daily team huddle meeting to inform team members of the production plans for the day and to motivate team members to reach goals and answer any questions.
- Must be able to skillfully perform each of the positions on the assigned line or area of responsibility.
- Must train each team member using the demonstration-performance method: explanation, demonstration, performance with team lead watching and then evaluation by team lead.
- Responsible for the Manage for Daily Improvement (MDI) Board. This requires completion of safety, quality, delivery, non-conformance, and productivity KPIs.
- Responsible for updating the efficiency trend and pareto charts daily.
- Must review and be prepared to answer questions regarding the MDI board at morning rounds.
- Maintain the skills matrix for assigned team members and set a goal to have all new team members crossed trained in all positions within 60 days.
- Examine equipment on assigned line for proper function and report any issue immediately to maintenance.
- Ensure that all team members sign the traveler per work order for quality.
- Process all non-conforming part in JD Edwards.
- Complete the Red Card to notify warehouse team lead of all orders that were short or where the wrong part was pulled.
- Document the first item completed and boxed per order.
- Provide supervisor prompt corrective action information, as necessary.
- Assists the supervisors with employee reprimands and annual performance reviews.
- Pull orders, as necessary.
- Responsible for daily 5S for assigned area: sort, set in order, shine, standardized, and sustain.
- Must maintain excellent attendance and wear PPE.
