Description
Top Tier Ingredients is a new, state-of-the-art, food-grade potato dehydration facility in Hancock, WI.
The Production Supervisor's role is to supervise and direct employees to execute core operating processes, including the GMPs, SOPs, SCM, SQF, and Lean Manufacturing processes established by Top Tier management, to ensure quality and safe ingredients are produced and that efficiencies and cost structures are optimized. This is a 12-hour shift role.

Qualifications
Core Responsibilities:
Production Responsibilities (70%)
- Supervising and coordinating employees on shift to execute core operating processes, including the GMPs, SOPs, SCM, SQF, and Lean Manufacturing processes, to ensure quality and safe ingredients are produced and that efficiencies and cost structures are optimized.
- Work with Quality Assurance Technicians to ensure product quality standards are met; minimize held product, and ensure proper disposition occurs when holding product is necessary.
- Ensure production for the shift is on schedule and within budget, and plan production for future shifts.
- Working with Maintenance Technicians and the Production Manager to understand machine setups, coordinate preventative maintenance, troubleshoot mechanical problems, and optimize the performance of equipment and facilities.
- Coach and develop employees, correct deficiencies, and implement discipline procedures.
General Operations Responsibilities (30%)
- Proven track record of achieving results through the growth and development of others.
- Working with the Production Manager to carefully plan the utilization of materials and other resources to minimize waste, properly utilize labor, and reduce line downtime.
- Work with shipping and receiving personnel to ensure proper FIFO of raw materials and WIP management.
- Understand the role of IFS to ensure proper allocation of materials to production runs.
- Follows all applicable SOPs for the area in which they are assigned. Maintains and uses appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) in accordance with OSHA and plant-defined SOPs.
- Ensuring that lean practices are incorporated and continuously used to maximize efficiency.
- Ensuring that the work environment meets safety and health standards and that equipment is well-maintained and functions reliably.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Works independently with little or no direct supervision at a high level.
- Demonstrated ability to collect data, analyze and draw facts, and make decisions based on those facts.
- Supports and participates in Continuous Improvement initiatives.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and other data collection systems.
Preferred Experience:
- College degree in a related field or equivalent work experience is preferred.
- Five years of experience working in a manufacturing environment with 2-3 years of direct supervision experience.
- Three years of experience working in food production.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to frequently climb stairs and ladders, walk on catwalks, and work on and around plant equipment.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. regularly, and up to 100 lbs. occasionally.
- Requires the ability to clearly understand verbal and written communication from others.
Work Schedule:
The Production Supervisor’s work schedule can vary based on the time of year and product demand. One can generally expect 40 to 50 hours, over 5-6 days per week.
