**Position Summary **
As a Production Supervisor on the Night Shift, you will lead a team of skilled or semi-skilled workers (material handlers and operators) engaged in various aspects of the processing, maintenance, and warehousing functions of the Applied Sterilization Technologies (AST) business in our Northborough, MA facility. You will select, train and direct their workforce, and will employ key company processes effectively to achieve results. In your role as a Production Supervisor, you are responsible for employee engagement and maintaining a positive employee relations environment.
**This is a Night Shift role that requires onsite work on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday and every other Wednesday from 7:00pm to 7:00am. **
What You’ll do as a Production Supervisor (Nights)
Develop a shop floor culture that is focused on the achievement of the businesses’ objectives in Safety, Quality, Delivery and Cost (SQDC), by continuously focusing on waste elimination and following standard work.
Lead daily SQDC board meetings, train and develop employees to meet expectations, ensure the working environment is safe through direct monitoring of behavior and equipment, incident response, mitigation and investigation as issues occur during the shift, and provide individual and group feedback on successes and opportunities to improve performance.
Identify opportunities for countermeasures and participate in facility lean committees.
Support the company’s Lean business system, through participation in Kaizen events, generation of IDEaS and implementation, participation in Total Productive Maintenance (TPM), One Team One Goal (OTOG) Customer Service training, and the “What’s in the Box?” product orientation program.
First point of contact for mitigation and investigation of issues related to safety, quality, delivery, and cost.
Drive employee engagement by implementing Lean processes.
Create an environment of positive employee relations by creating a safe and productive work environment, listening to and addressing employee concerns, enforcing company policy and constructively managing employee performance. In unionized facilities or where works councils are present, understands / enforces collective bargaining agreements, shop agreements and plant rules. (70%)
Drive employee engagement by implementing and using lean processes.
Participate in the interviewing and selection of new employees; assure the team has necessary skill and tools to complete work, ensure that shifts are properly staffed, assign daily work to achieve Customer objectives.
Regularly assess skill level and performance, and address gaps, to ensure employees are capable of meeting expectations. (20%)
Ensure smooth shift transitions via personnel planning. Collaborate effectively across functions with Quality, Human Resources, Planning etc. (10%)
Participate in and supports Customer quality audits, and internal and external OTOG events.
Ensure performance across a range activities and metrics: safety, quality, delivery, employee relations, equipment performance, preventive maintenance, and project activities.
Monitor processing throughout shift to assure safety, quality and delivery. Track procedural verifications, including dosimeter re-reads, KPIs and Update SQDC boards
** The Experience, Skills and Abilities Needed **
**Required: **
High School Diploma /GED, required.
A minimum of 5 years of industrial or other relevant work experience (i.e. material handling, operations and warehouse), or a minimum of 3 years of STERIS operations experience as a Material Handler or Operator.
Ability to obtain forklift certification.
Ability to learn science of sterilization modalities for sterile processing.
Understanding of the four basic functions of mathematics as it applies to a production environment.
Effective communication skills and ability to conduct team meetings.
Ability to effectively employ delegation, collaboration, and conflict resolution skills in a team environment.
Knowledge of MS Office 365 including Outlook, Excel, Word and PowerPoint.

Pay range for this opportunity is $72,675.00 - $86,000. This position is eligible for bonus participation.
