About Our Client

Our client is growing and is seeking an experienced Machining Supervisor to join its skilled manufacturing team in Grove, Oklahoma. Founded in 1982, our client has deep roots in precision manufacturing for the U.S. government, with a strong aerospace and defense focus.

The Grove plant has approximately 50 employees and manages approximately 300 active government contracts year-round. The organization offers a stable, team-focused manufacturing environment with modern equipment, a strong commitment to quality and safety, and meaningful opportunity for continued growth.

Position Overview

Lead the CNC production team in daily operations, manage schedules and forecasts to meet company objectives, and continually improve production performance. The Machining Supervisor will initially manage approximately 20 CNC operators and provide coaching, training, feedback, and accountability while working closely with operations leadership.

This is a leadership-focused role requiring strong CNC technical credibility, but our client is looking for more than an operator mentality. The right person should be capable of managing people, priorities, schedules, and performance while helping the operation scale.

There is meaningful growth opportunity in the position. As the company expands, the role could grow from leading the CNC operation to broader responsibility for CNC, sheet metal, and assembly. The plant could also expand to a weekend crew and/or second shift.

Schedule

• Current operation is primarily four 10-hour days.
• Supervisors rotate Friday morning coverage.
• Additional hours may be required as needed to support production schedules.
• The position is salaried and requires a minimum of approximately 45 hours per week.

Job Responsibilities

• Supervise daily activity within CNC machining and support coordination with manual machining, assembly, and the tool room.
• Lead daily and weekly production meetings.
• Organize work and priorities to support production schedules and customer delivery requirements.
• Coach, train, and provide feedback to production employees while maintaining clear performance expectations and accountability.
• Monitor departmental performance and continually identify opportunities to improve productivity, quality, and efficiency.
• Aggressively address scrap, waste, and other production inefficiencies.
• Inspect work using gauging and inspection equipment and perform production spot checks to verify conformance to specifications.
• Troubleshoot machine and process problems and communicate issues to the appropriate manufacturing, management, or maintenance resources.
• Work closely with Engineering to resolve production issues and meet business objectives.
• Recommend and implement improvements to manufacturing processes, methods, and controls.
• Support product and process analysis focused on cost reduction, quality improvement, and efficiency.
• Coordinate manufacturing launches of new or revised products with Engineering, including establishing goals, training team members, and evaluating results.
• Manage multiple priorities and projects simultaneously.
• Promote a strong safety culture and ensure company safety procedures are followed.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Education, Skills & Experience

• Minimum of 10 years of manufacturing experience with approximately five years of lead or other leadership experience.
• Previous experience as a Lead, Supervisor, or in another manufacturing leadership role.
• Strong CNC machining background and technical understanding of CNC mills, CNC lathes, and multi-axis machining, including up to 5-axis+ equipment.
• Strong blueprint-reading ability.
• Knowledge of tooling, fixtures, materials, and machining processes.
• Ability to inspect machined parts using a variety of inspection and gauging equipment.
• Strong math skills and aptitude.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft applications and general computer skills.
• Demonstrated history of quality, strong work standards, and team participation.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision and effectively lead others.
• Previous aerospace or defense manufacturing experience is a significant plus.

Physical Demands & Work Environment

• Regular standing, sitting, walking, reaching, and repetitive hand/arm motion.
• Manual dexterity for handling tools and equipment, including simple grasping and fine manipulation.
• Bending, squatting, crawling, climbing, and reaching may be required.
• Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull medium weights up to approximately 30 to 75 pounds; partner assistance is available for heavier loads.
• Work is performed in a machining environment around moving machinery with possible exposure to temperature and humidity changes, dust, fumes, gases, chemicals, and solvents.
• Safety glasses are required in production areas, and respiratory protection may be required depending on the work being performed.
• OSHA regulations and company safety requirements must be followed.
