Position Description

The Production Supervisor for Surface Mount and Final Assembly is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the production departments, ensuring that manufacturing processes run smoothly and efficiently. This role involves managing teams of production workers located in different areas on the production floor, coordinating with other departments, and maintaining high standards of quality and safety. This role requires active engagement with team members to foster a collaborative and productive work environment. This position reports to the Electronic Manufacturing Manager.

Position Details

This full-time position is based in Olathe, Kansas. Hours are Monday thru Thursday 6:00am to 3:30pm. Friday 6:00am to 2:30pm. Every other Friday off. Occasional extension of typical hours may be necessary, dependent upon business needs.

Duties & Responsibilities

1. Supervision and Leadership:
   • Lead, mentor, and supervise team of production workers.
   • Assign tasks and monitor progress to ensure timely completion of production schedules.
   • Conduct regular team meetings to communicate goals, expectations, and updates.
   • Serve as a positive role model and change agent to support company initiatives.
2. Production Management:
   • Oversee the entire production process throughout the departments.
   • Ensure adherence to production schedules and quality standards.
   • Monitor and optimize production workflows to improve efficiency and reduce waste.
   • Collaborate with Production Planning to finalize and adjust production order scheduling to meet customer needs.
3. Quality Control:
   • Implement and maintain quality control procedures.
   • Conduct regular inspections and audits to ensure products meet quality standards.
   • Address and resolve any quality issues promptly.
4. Safety and Compliance:
   • Enforce safety protocols and ensure a safe working environment.
   • Conduct required training and ensure compliance with all relevant regulations.
   • Investigate and report any accidents or incidents.
5. Continuous Improvement:
   • Identify areas for improvement and implement process enhancements.
   • Collaborate with other departments to drive innovation and efficiency.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of manufacturing management experience in electronic industrial production manufacturing preferred.
• Proven experience as a Production Supervisor or similar role.
• Strong leadership and team management skills to build, inspire and retain a high-performance manufacturing team.
• Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
• Knowledge of production processes, quality control, and safety regulations.
• Proficient in writing, reading and speaking the English language.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in using production management software and tools.

Working Conditions

• The position may require standing for extended periods and lifting heavy objects up to 25 pounds.
