Graveyard Shift Supervisor – Lead, Motivate, and Drive Production Excellence

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

1. Analyzes production schedules and assigns jobs and personnel to complete orders by shipment dates.

2. Assigns duties and examines work for accuracy, efficiency, and conformance to specifications.

3. Interprets specifications and work order information.

5. Recommends and implements measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and product quality.

6. Analyzes and assists employees in resolving work-related conflicts.

7. Initiates or suggests plans to motivate employees to achieve work goals.

8. Maintains time and production records.

9. Estimates, requisitions, and inspects shop supplies.

4. Interprets and enforces company policies and safety regulations.

10. Determines required staffing levels. Interviews and selects employees to fill vacant positions.

11. Conducts evaluations of employee performance and corrective actions in a timely manner.

Analyzes and assist employees in resolving work related conflict and issues.

12. Facilitates performance improvement through coaching and mentoring.

13. Cooperates with other departments and personnel to meet customer requirements.

14. Trains, coaches, and mentors lead operator staff.

15. Promotes the quality system and follows quality system guidelines. Ensures staff is educated and understands quality system requirements.

16. Actively participates in process improvement, including activities such as Lean Events and 6S.


SECONDARY FUNCTIONS

1. Perform activities of employees supervised.

2. Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  QUALIFICATIONS

1. Must be able to work in a team environment.

2. Must have good communication and conflict resolution skills.

3. Must have the ability to organize and direct the activities of others.

4. Must have a growth mindset and be able to effectively adapt to change.

5. Must be able to manage time and projects.

6. Must be self-directed. 

7. Must have a basic understanding of production processes.

8. Must have basic supervisory knowledge.

9. Must be able to perform root cause analysis.

10. Must have basic computer skills (MRPII, process monitoring, word processing, etc.) and be able to use portions that are applicable to job function.

11. Must be able to lift 35 lbs frequently and to push or pull 50 lbs frequently.

12. Requires high school diploma or equivalent. Associates degree preferred.

13. Requires minimum one year of experience in a fast paced manufacturing environment. At least six months experience in a supervisory position preferred.
