PRODUCTION SUPERVISOR - FILLING

(2nd Shift)

 

The Production Supervisor - Filling is responsible for overseeing the manufacturing functions in the Filling Department to ensure customer satisfaction in both quality of product and on-time delivery while maintaining company standards as relates to safety, cost control, and processes.


DESCRIPTION OF ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

  • Organizes and schedules the department’s production activities in filling to determine production activities.
  • Assigns the work to filling operators.
  • Trains new operators on filling operations.
  • Performs filling operations as necessary based on workload.
  • Conducts regular training for existing employees to ensure employee growth.
  • Champions safety and housekeeping initiatives and communicates them to all employees.
  • Monitors quality of products produced to ensure adherence to company standards.
  • Responsible for adherence to safety rules by all direct reports, promoting safe work practices, coaching and any necessary safety training required in addition to that provided by the corporate safety trainer. Also is responsible for stopping and reporting any safety violations when observed throughout the facility.
  • Utilize the Business Operating System to report operations completed, materials issued, and other related transactions.
  • Interview, hire and terminate employees, as necessary.
  • Conduct performance reviews on a semi-annual basis.
  • Participate in quality system audits for compliance with ISO and quality standards.
  • Perform other miscellaneous duties as assigned by Supervisor or Manager.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:  

  • Preferred education level: Associate’s or two-year college degree or equivalent.
  • Preferred experience level: Two to four years of experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably chemicals or coatings.
  • Prior supervisory experience helpful, but not required.
  • Forklift certification strongly preferred.
  • Exemplify core values, i.e., Integrity, Loyalty, Passion, Commitment, and Respect.
  • Superb written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent computer skills (Microsoft Office – Word, Excel, Outlook), ERP system and other office machinery.
  • Works well in a team environment.
  • Excellent team building and communications skills.

WORK ENVIRONMENT: 

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to talk and/or hear, stand and/or walk, use hands to finger, handle or touch objects or controls and move from place to place. The employee is regularly required to sit, balance, stoop, and occasionally reach above shoulders. The employee occasionally must use foot/feet to operate machinery, climb or balance and reach above the shoulders. The employee may regularly lift and/or move up to 65 lbs. and occasionally up to 100lbs.

 

Personal Protection Equipment is required during various processes in the production area. Safety shoes, glasses, and flame-retardant uniforms are required in the production area. Respirators and ear plugs may be required when performing certain production activities.
