Description
Plascon is a manufacturer of specialty plastic packaging that is used in the food service, institutional and pharmaceutical industries. We are searching for a Production Supervisor - 6pm-6am to join us in beautiful Traverse City, Michigan. An associate's degree from an accredited two-year college or technical college, or equivalent work experience is required. Strong leadership abilities. Must have a minimum of two years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing setting. Must have a fork truck license and/or ability to obtain one. Successful candidates will have shown the ability to lead, communicate and coach a team of employees.
Summary
This position is responsible for leading and supervising the hourly production employees in all areas of the facility to drive productivity and quality. Key focus areas include safety, planning and organization, continuous improvement, and the training and development of personnel. This position will spend a majority of shift time on the manufacturing floor.

Supervisory Responsibilities
Directly supervises production hourly employees. This includes approximately 9-14 hourly employees assigned to third shift. Fulfills supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems in consultation with Human Resources.

Education and/or Experience
Associate degree from an accredited two-year college or technical college, or equivalent work experience. Strong leadership abilities. Language Skills
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical procedures and governmental regulations. Ability to draft reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from employees and managers.

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions and percentages.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Computer Skills Ability to utilize computer at a basic level for data and inventory entry and for scheduling, time keeping, etc.
