Job Overview:

Custom Marine, Inc. is hiring a Supervisor on our 3rd Shift. 

                                                                                                                          

Position Responsibilities:

  • First line of responsibility for production personnel; coordination of personal time and first line of contact for personnel issues. 
  • Responsible for consistent and accurate shift to shift communication.
  • Responsible for maintaining a safe and clean work environment ensuring that all safety instructions are followed.
  • Responsible for safety, quality, cost, and delivery of assigned shift. 
  • Working knowledge of production processes.
  • Ensure new employees have been properly trained in their position which must include the safety standards. 
  • Manage cross training across shift. 
  • Conduct regular meetings with team which incorporate safety topics.
  • Support the Plant Manager as necessary with any special projects.
  • Complete daily reports and maintain logs.
  • Ensure that work is being performed in a quality and timely manner.
  • Recording downtime, scrap, and determining team efficiency.
  • Review production schedules and coordinate manufacturing activities to ensure production and quality of products meets specification. 
  • Duties related to time and attendance system.
  • Direct supervision of production personnel. 
  • Disciplinary action, employee performance evaluations and policy enforcement. 
  • Troubleshoot machines and tooling issues. 
  • Ability to function effectively at both strategic and tactical levels.
  • Leadership by example, “roll up the shirtsleeves” management style and work ethic. 
  • Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate empower and promote a positive team environment.

 

Essential Skills and Experience:

  • High School Diploma or GED (General Education Diploma) equivalent. 
  • At least five (5) years of experience in a manufacturing environment. As least three (3) years of experience in a supervisory role.
  • Proficient in Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to work and thrive under time constraints and juggle and prioritize responsibilities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, organization, and documentation skills.
  • Team -oriented, collaborative, and flexible.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated ability as a leader of hourly operators.

 

Preferred Skills and Experience:

  • Associate degree or technical school preferred.
