AWT has the following position open in our South Elgin location: Production Supervisor - 2nd Shift

The schedule for this position is Monday - Friday, Hours are 6:00 pm - 2:30 am. Additional days and hours may be necessary due to production requirements. $1.00 Shift Differential.

**General Description of Job

  • **To plan and supervise all functional area activities in a consistent and cost effective manner; to provide leadership, motivation and direction to all personnel; to participate in management team activities as requested.

Required Job Duties

  • schedules appropriate staff for all functional areas of production according to work load

  • ensures that available staff is effectively and efficiently utilized

  • reviews daily time sheets for accuracy and corrects and forwards to accounting/payroll administrative assistant by end of the following day. Undesirable patterns or misuse of time sheets are identified and the appropriate corrective action and training conducted as identified

  • job orders are assigned appropriately with guidance from the daily schedule and completed as scheduled

  • press assignments are made with consideration to special requirements and capability of staff

  • sets and clearly defines employee expectations

  • maintains consistent, accurate records and documentation of performance for employee appraisal and feedback

  • ensures that all state and local laws are followed with regard to safety and environmental regulations and practices

  • be actively involved and interface with day-to-day department process management and be aware of department workload, activities and performance

  • participate in quality improvement initiative to ensure customer satisfaction and that all jobs meet or exceed estimated time and materials
