Job Overview:

Description

As a production supervisor, you will be responsible for managing a diverse and talented manufacturing team. Your primary goal is to properly organize staff members and achieve a reasonable workflow throughout the shift. Your position will also include directing, disciplining, training, and assisting lower-level manufacturing employees in a factory setting. The Production Supervisor reports to the Director of Operations.


Summary of Job duties:

  • Helps manufacturing staff achieve company goals by communicating expectations, planning, monitoring, and evaluating job results
  • Enforces company policies and guidelines
  • Implements cost-saving strategies and techniques
  • Ensures that production plans are completed by a certain time
  • Contacts appropriate sources for repair issues
  • Counsels employees on how to achieve an optimal output or workflow
  • Resolves issues and disputes between manufacturing employees
  • Communicates with and assists other manufacturing departments as needed
  • Evaluates the condition of production equipment
  • Maintains a clean and safe environment for all workers
  • Compiles and analyzes production records.
  • Minimize downtime of assembly line by insuring proper set ups.
  • Perform Quality audits and complete necessary paperwork on specific units.
  • Informing engineering or Quality control of manufacturing problems.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.


Requirements

Job Requirements

  • High school Diploma required
  • Bachelor's Degree preferred
  • Previous supervisory experience
  • Excellent coaching and communication skills
  • Broad knowledge of production planning processes
  • Strategic planning skills
  • Comfortable working in a manufacturing environment
  • Understanding of machine controls and instrumentation
  • Able to deal with complex issues in a fast-paced setting
  • Ability to work with others in a team environment
  • Ability to utilize computers/bar coding to track parts, routings, job orders, employee labor, and attendance etc.
  • Ability to read blueprints and interpret drawings.
  • Must be able to see and hear adequately to respond to auditory and visual requests.
  • Must be able to lift 10-25 lbs, bend, stoop, squat, twist, and stand for extended periods of time.
