If you are a Production Supervisor Professional looking for an opportunity to grow, Emerson has an exciting opportunity for you!

Based in our Shakopee, MN location, you will gain skill in the supervision of assigned manufacturing work areas in a manner which will achieve group objectives with regard to safety, quality, continuous improvement, schedule, cost, training, and a positive working environment. This role is a 4-day work week position with hours of operation Monday through Thursday 3:00 PM to 1:30 AM. Rosemount™ is a signature brand of Emerson, offering a comprehensive line of measurement instrumentation, analyzers and systems which are used in a wide range of applications found in critical processing facilities such as refineries, chemical plants, power plants, pipelines, and more.

 
In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:
 
  • Welcome new plant employee hires to Emerson and take them through the initial phases of onboarding and training.
  • Deliver instruction to new employees on safety, quality, and plant job functions.
  • Help new employees learn how to perform their first roles on the production floor.
  • Create and maintain a safe work environment. Be responsible for maintenance and protection of company property in assigned work area.
  • Plan daily work assignments and periodic rotations for assigned employees to meet objectives. Delegate routine and important tasks.
  • Share responsibility and accountability for schedule, quality of product and safety with direct reports. Set clear objectives and measures, monitors progress and results.
  • Participate in the hiring and selection process to fill open positions. Interview and recommend potential candidates.
  • Maintain and support ongoing training programs. Participate in the development of new or updated training programs as necessary. Provide tasks and assignments that challenge and stretch employee’s abilities. Conduct regular discussions with employees on personal development.
  • Communicate regularly to assigned employees on matters such as business conditions, goals, trends, accomplishments, pay plan updates, and information on benefits and policies. Foster open dialogue within work unit and across work units.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of, and consistently and fairly administers and supports company policies, procedures and guidelines

For This Role, You Will Need:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 2-4 years of related supervisory experience
  • Minimum 2 years experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship now or in the future. This is not a position for which sponsorship will be provided. Individuals with temporary visas such as E, F-1 (including those with OPT or CPT) , H-1, H-2, L-1, B, J or TN, or who need sponsorship for work authorization now or in the future, are not eligible for hire.
 
Preferred Qualifications That Set You Apart:
 
  • Bachelor’s degree in business or related field
  • Experience with lean manufacturing principles
  • Exposure to WMS
  • Familiarity with product shipping & receiving, and stock room

Our compensation philosophy is simple: we pay a competitive base salary, within the local market in which we operate, and reward performance during our annual merit review process. The salary range for this role is $60,000-$85,000 annually, commensurate with the skills, talent, capabilities, and experience each candidate brings to a role.
