Overview
As a Production Group Leader in Dryer, you will be overseeing the support of team members either directly or through the Team Leads within your area/zone. You will be responsible for coordinating day-to-day activities to maintain safety, quality, delivery, and cost requirements within Small Chassis Dryer.
The hours for this position are 2:30pm to 1am, Monday-Thursday with the potential of overtime on Fridays. This position is onsite in Ripon, Wisconsin.
Responsibilities
- Creates a safe work culture by ensuring safety standard practices are adhered to, safety action team involvement, and ergonomic evaluations completed on every new operation and equipment
- Works with Quality, Team Members, and Team Leaders to ensure all products produced meet or exceed customer requirements
- Empowers and expects every team member to contribute to continuous improvement
- Demonstrates a core value of respectful treatment of all team members in every discussion, interaction and decision
- Provide daily direction to Team Leads to ensure KPI requirements are achieved safely
- Complete attendance and time keeping requirements for your hourly team members daily
- Drive waste reduction through lean techniques
- Ensure that employees are properly trained by their Team Lead or other designated trainer in the areas of safety, quality, equipment operation and 5S
- Interface with technical staff to ensure proper support
- Establish annual goals and objectives that support the attainment of operating metrics
- Serve as the first point of contact for employees regarding employee relations issues
- Interface with Union Stewards in contract and discipline issues
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Knowledge/Experience:
- Proven history of ability to lead with a servant leadership mindset.
- A minimum of three years of experience in a medium/high volume, fast-paced manufacturing environment is preferred.
- Previous Assembly line supervision experience would be preferred.

Skills and Abilities:**
- Must be self-driven and ambitious with proven leadership capabilities, including providing coaching, mentoring and supervision within a team environment.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office (Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel).
- Strong problem solving skills, including encouraging others on your team to think proactively and create solutions.
- Basic understanding of process control, production scheduling, Kaizen, Kanban and Lean manufacturing is preferred.

Education:**
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Manufacturing Engineering or Operations is preferred.
- Associate Degree in Business Management or Engineering with previous leadership experience in manufacturing setting would be considered
- Previous professional, internship or co-op experience will be taken into consideration as relevant experience.
Physical Requirements
- Position involves sitting, standing and walking extensively, manual dexterity, stooping, bending and minimal lifting.
