St. Clair Foods, Inc. is a premier manufacturer of refrigerated deli salads, frozen side dishes and frozen entrees, primarily for the foodservice industry. We are SQF Level II certified, as well as USDA and FDA inspected and approved.
The Production Supervisor is responsible for manufacturing food products by supervising staff; organizing and monitoring work flow while maintaining product integrity and following guidelines established by the company and other governing bodies.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Able to plan, prioritize, and complete tasks effectively and efficiently
- Maintain the highest standards of ethics and integrity
- Accomplishes manufacturing staff results by communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results; coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; initiating, coordinating, and enforcing systems, policies, and procedures.
- Maintains staff by orienting, and training employees; developing personal growth opportunities.
- Maintains work flow by monitoring steps of the process; setting processing variables; observing control points and equipment; monitoring personnel and resources; studying methods; implementing cost reductions; developing reporting procedures and systems; facilitating corrections to malfunctions within process control points; initiating and fostering a spirit of cooperation within and between departments.
- Completes production plan by assigning personnel; accomplishing work results; establishing priorities; monitoring progress; revising schedules; resolving problems; reporting results of the processing flow or processing problems.
- Maintains quality standards by establishing and enforcing organization standards.
- Ensures operation of equipment by calling for repairs; evaluating new equipment and techniques.
- Provides manufacturing information by compiling, initiating, sorting, and analyzing production runs; answering questions and responding to requests.
- Maintains safe and clean work environment by educating and directing personnel on the use of all control points, equipment, and resources; maintaining compliance with established policies and procedures such as Good Manufacturing Practices and HACCP guidelines.
- Resolves personnel problems by analyzing information; investigating issues; identifying solutions; recommending action.
- Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; benchmarking state-of-the-art practices; participating in professional societies.
- Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
Qualifications:
To perform this job successfully, the employee must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The employee must have a Bachelor of Science or Art from a four-year college or university, at least 2 years of experience as a Production Supervisor in a food-related business. The employee must be able to work flexible hours and at times flexible shifts. The employee must be able to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and make written reports. The employee should have basic computer skills: word processing, spreadsheet and Outlook, as well as knowledge of payroll systems.
