Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Production Supervisor to lead and oversee manufacturing operations on the 2nd shift. This position is responsible for supervising production employees, maintaining a safe and efficient work environment, ensuring production schedules and quality standards are met, and addressing operational issues as they arise.
Responsibilities
- Supervise, coach, and support production employees on the 2nd shift.
- Coordinate daily production activities to meet safety, quality, productivity, and delivery goals.
- Monitor production processes, equipment, workflow, and staffing levels.
- Ensure employees follow company policies, safety procedures, and standard operating procedures.
- Review production schedules and assign employees and resources accordingly.
- Troubleshoot production issues and work with maintenance and other departments to minimize downtime.
- Monitor quality throughout the production process and address defects or process concerns.
- Track production performance, downtime, scrap, and other key metrics.
- Conduct shift meetings and communicate production priorities, issues, and updates to management and other shifts.
- Train and develop employees while providing ongoing coaching and performance feedback.
- Maintain accurate production records, reports, and documentation.
- Promote a clean, organized, and safe manufacturing environment.
- Assist with continuous improvement initiatives focused on productivity, quality, safety, and efficiency.
Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience in a manufacturing or production environment.
- Previous supervisory or lead experience in a manufacturing setting.
- Strong understanding of production processes, workflow, and manufacturing operations.
- Ability to read and interpret production schedules, work instructions, and related documentation.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Excellent communication and leadership abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced production environment.
- Experience with production tracking, quality control, and safety procedures.
- Proficiency with basic computer systems and Microsoft Office.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; additional technical or manufacturing education is a plus.
