Job Overview:

Vertiv is hiring a Production  Supervisor in Anderson, SC who will be responsible for the materials management function relating to the planning, expediting, storage, control, distribution, and shipment of materials and products to meet operational objectives and customer requirements.  The supervisor integrates the functions of production control, traffic, and warehousing to support a manufacturing operation. The supervisor sets aggressive improvement goals and reports on a regular basis to the program manager.

RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Maintain positive, progressive, and productive attitude toward plant targets and objectives regarding reliability, accountability, safety, integrity, quality, and productivity as a unified goal.
  • Oversee the set-up and operation of assigned team/shift.
  • Make informed and intelligent decisions and improvise in the absence of instruction (lead a team independently after normal business hours have ended).
  • Develops standard work, policies, and procedures in collaboration with other facilities Manager, Production Control Logistics and professional supply chain resources.
  • Provide troubleshooting assistance to maintenance and determine the cause of performance gaps using collaborative data knowledge and creative problem-solving skills. 
  • Document/report all production and quality requirements and any performance gaps.
  • Liaising with Engineer and dispatch to ready shipments to site.
  • Log and return all paperwork to stores department for product delivered to warehouse. 
  • Ensure team is punctual and productive.

Leadership Responsibilities

  • Ensure your team is compliant with all organization safety and performance policies.
  • Conduct periodic performance reviews on your team members according to the company’s 6 core values.
  • Conduct applicable corrective actions and coaching sessions and encourage accountability.
  • Set and maintain a certain standard of excellence for your team to follow.
  • Set daily goals for your team and ensure follow-through.
  • Resolve issues encountered in keeping a team of employees on target.
  • Understand and promote pertinent plant and department objectives to the team.

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Job Qualifications: 

  • High School Diploma or GED

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word 
  • Self-starter who can resolve issues, track employee performance, engage in creative problem solving and coordinate work schedules for a team of employees.
  • Prior leadership experience or displayed tendencies essential. 

EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATIONS

  • High School Diploma or GED
