What You’ll Do:

  • Train and direct all employees in the department to conform to CSC safety and quality procedures.
  • Monitor and coordinate all activities within and between departments to meet production standards.
  • Assist in planning and establishing work schedules, assignments and production sequences to meet production goals.
  • Work with supporting departments to coordinate operations to meet production schedule.
  • Fill in for leads or personnel in their absence, as needed. 
  • Directly and indirectly support manager in all aspects of employment life cycle for production staffing on assigned shift to include but not be limited to:  Interviewing, Selection, Training, Time management, Scheduling, directing work, Promotions/Status changes, Disciplining, Terminations, Performance management, Monitoring and implementing legal compliance measures.
  • Utilize HRIS for daily time management to include missed punches, PTO requests, and absenteeism.
  • Prepare for shift start up; conduct pre-shift meeting at start time to cover Safety, Quality, Previous days performance, and Current days production target.
  • Coordinate hand-offs so that expectations are clear on schedules and production goals.
  • Complete documentation and administer disciplinary action for attendance and performance issues.
  • Conduct 90-day and annual reviews on employees and provide consistent feedback.
  • Communicate regularly with managers and departments via email, phone, meetings, etc.
  • Investigate and follow-up on near misses, addressing those involved, and document corrective action.
  • Meet regularly with Production Manager to discuss KPIs.
  • Prepare and send out Production report at the end of scheduled shift.
  • Act as Manager on Duty, as directed.

Note: The spices can create a dusty environment and sometimes have high heat intensity or contain allergens.  If you are sensitive to these conditions, this job may not be the right fit for you.

Qualifications


 

What we’re looking for & things you need:

RELIABILITY -.  If you’re not ready to commit, this isn’t for you.

  • High School diploma/GED required, bachelor’s degree, and/or advanced technical education preferred
  • 3 years’ mixing room, or related machine operating manufacturing, experience
  • 2 years’ experience in Food Manufacturing
  • 1 year experience in supervisor role with multiple direct reports, or 4 years in a lead role
  • Must have Forklift experience
  • Ability to set standards, hold employees accountable, and lead by example
  • Must be a team player and able to verbally communicate to a group of 15-20 employees
  • Demonstrated success in building teams
  • Demonstrated ability to work with all levels of employees
  • Must be self-motivated with strong initiative
  • Must have solid decision making and problem-solving skills
  • Must have the ability to motivate teams of employees
  • Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Computer proficiency required, highly proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Ability to sit and work at a computer keyboard for extended periods of time
  • Stand for the duration of the shift
  • Walk long distances
  • Ability to climb up and down on a forklift occasionally
  • Push, pull, lift, & carry heavy product such as equipment, bags and drums weighing up to 100lbs
  • Able to extend arms with hands over the head or at shoulder height
  • Hold, grasp or turn with the use of hands
  • Touch, pickup, and pinch with the use of fingers
  • Kneel, stoop, or bend downwards and forward
  • Ascend or descend ladders and platforms
  • Stand, work, and walk at heights on platforms at least six feet or higher
  • Express or exchange ideas by means of spoken words.  Convey detailed instructions to others
  • Able to hear, understand and distinguish speech and/or other sounds such as machinery alarms
  • Near and far visual acuity required
  • Work in an environment that is noisy, dusty and may contain spices with high heat intensity
  • Withstand working in cold and hot temperatures for long periods of time
  • Must be able to read and write English
  • Able to work occasional overtime and weekends as needed
  • Ability to follow GMPs.  We make food your family and friends will eat, which means we have strict rules for food safety.  Jewelry, false eyelashes, and fake fingernails are not permitted in the manufacturing plant. If these are things you can’t go without, this job isn’t for you.
