Position Summary: The Production Supervisor assists in the supervision of all operational aspects of the Plant and related operations. This position directly supervises production team members and ensures productivity (yields, efficiency) as well as Safety, Lean Manufacturing (5S, Kanban, Kaizen etc.), and Food Safety programs are maintained. This role is responsible for training direct reports on all procedures and assisting the Plant Manager with production/packaging schedule, production labor, supply procurement, and fiscal budgets.

Primary Responsibilities:
60% 1. Production Activities:
- Coordinate and supervise production activities as directed by the Plant and Production Managers.
- Provide direction and leadership to all direct reports. Provides motivation, support, and guidance to direct reports while promoting/communicating Haas Core Values and using those values as a baseline for all employee interactions.
- Help coordinate material control requirements, feedstock, and processing supplies.
- Ensure D365 jobs are completed, and production data is documented appropriately.
- Perform inventory control measures and audits to ensure accurate inventory counts.
- Coordinate production with QC Lab.
- Coordinate maintenance activities and other system and control improvements.
- Evaluate possible process improvements.
- Verify that all plant processes are always at optimum performance to ensure the best possible quality and yield.
- Create and maintain professional reports for management regarding the operation and performance of the plant.
- Write and train team on Standard Operating Procedures.
- Ensure direct report timecards are accurate and complete every week.
- Ensure SDS are up to date and all Integrated Management System and food safety requirements are upheld.
20% 2. Safety and Regulatory:
- Ensure that the plant is run in a safe and sanitary manner.
- Ensure compliance and hold direct reports accountable for unsafe actions.
- Implement and observe standard safety procedures on a daily basis.
- Help develop and lead safety training programs and meetings
- Evaluate near misses and investigate root causes and corrective actions.
- Maintain employee training logs to ensure legal compliance.
- Perform safety audits and follow up on findings.
- Complies with John I. Haas, Inc. Environmental Management system (EMS), specifically Universal Waste, Hazardous Waste, and Emergency Response requirements. Understands importance of roles and responsibilities and potential consequence for departure from procedure.
15% 3. LEAN/5S:
- Develop, implement, and sustain Lean Manufacturing programs.
- Ensure the 5S program is implemented and sustained through audits and accountability.
- Regularly encourage all team members to initiate continuous improvement ideas (Kaizen Log).
- Follow up on all Kaizen ideas with employee and ensure that, if approved by manager, implementation is successful.
- Utilize “just-in-time” processing and Kanban inventory procedures to ensure appropriate stocks of supplies and FG inventory.
5% 4. Other duties as assigned
Conditions of Employment:
- Must comply with all John I. Haas, Inc. policies and procedures including successful passing of a pre-employment background check and drug test.
- Work a 40-hour work week with flexibility to work additional hours as needed. During harvest (September/October) may be required to work weekends and over 8 hours.
- On-call 24 hours per day during production months.
- Must comply with our Integrated Management System (IMS) and be trained on procedures applicable to the requirements of the position, including managing significant quality, environmental, and food safety aspects.
Qualifications:
Required:
- Extensive manufacturing experience in a production facility indicating understanding of safety regulations, food safety, Lean Manufacturing, and production metrics.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Science, or other related field.
- Knowledge and understanding of OSHA/WISHA General Industry Safety, Food Safety, and FDA regulations.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written)
Preferred:
- Supervisory experience
- Instrumentation, process controls, valves/pumps, refrigeration, and steam system background.
- SharePoint, D365 ERP, Allen Bradley, and/or Auto CAD experience

Pay Information:
- Salary Range: $59,600 to $89,400 annually.
This range reflects the full pay scale for all roles within this position's grade. The actual salary offer will consider various factors, such as experience and, if applicable, location.
