Description
The Production Supervisor I reports to the Plant Manager and is responsible for supervising the production of finished goods, sub-assemblies and components.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Analyze schedules to determine material and labor requirements to achieve On Time Delivery goals.
- Work under direct supervision of the plant manager to manufacture products which meet established quality criteria. Tasks include troubleshooting sub-assembly and final assembly problems, use of hand and portable power tools, light machine operation, calibration, testing and visual inspection.
- Maintain productivity of the group via work assignments and efficient utilization of equipment, materials and labor.
- Maintain a safe workplace.
- Suggest disciplinary/attendance measures needed to address concerns to the plant manager.
- Maintain an effective dialogue with all employees to foster good employee morale and to handle employee complaints with support/guidance of the Plant Manager..
- Maintains employee records.
- Maintain labor and production records as required.
- 3PM start normally close at 12AM but could carry into 1AM.
Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s):
- Maintain average work order cycle time to achieve plant goals
- Maintain on time customer delivery to achieve plant goals
- Achieve RMA return rate and time to complete eval to achieve plant goals
- Reduce/manage the number of late IP’s to achieve plant goals
Requirements
Required Skills / Experience / Competencies:
- Two years of experience or equivalent as a Line Leader in a production environment.
- Thorough knowledge of products manufactured at assigned plants and of assembly methods and manufacturing processes.
- Must be capable of maintaining productivity and quality levels as required.
- Requires the ability to plan and achieve production schedules via effective supervision of the employees while operating under the Plant Manager’s guidance.
