We are currently accepting applications for a Production Supervisor in our State-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Watertown, WI, conveniently located between Madison and Milwaukee. This position works days and works 12-14 hours per day, 3-4 days per week.
JOB SUMMARY: The Production Supervisor organizes, coordinates, and communicates all day-to-day (Retail) operational activities and ensures the secure start up and shut down of the facility. The Production Supervisor II will ensure that all jobs are performed following all company, safety and quality policies while maintaining high productivity. The Production Supervisor is responsible for providing leadership, coaching, corrective action, and reviewing employee's performance fairly and consistently.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Perform supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the Company’s policies and applicable laws for all direct reports. Responsibilities include planning, assigning and directing work, coaching, appraising performance, training, addressing complaints, and resolving problems.
- Responsible for the overall safety of employees through training programs, plant security and equipment safety.
- Responsible for improving working conditions, throughput, morale, quality of product, and production efficiencies on the retail lines.
- Responsible for the safety and productivity of people (monitoring line availability and giving direction to improve in this area to Senior Techs and Retail Techs).
- Responsible for the cleanliness of the South plant, maintains the South side Master Cleaning Schedule and follows up on all South side operational FSA’s, etc.
- Responsible for the Locked cabinet inventory of assigned equipment for the South Side.
- Inspect products to verify that all items are produced within specifications using predetermined quality parameters.
- Responsible for the accuracy of all quality and production documents.
- Responsible for OEE tracker at the end of shift for the South side and its accuracy to include good details with next step resolutions when necessary.
- Responsible for ensuring all finished D365 orders are closed, have initials, and have correct consumption against them for the South side Retail lines.
- Analyze and resolve work problems or assist workers in solving production related issues
- Responsible for monitoring, tracking, and minimizing waste in the South plant on Retail lines.
- Responsible for continuous improvement on the Retail lines.
- Interprets company policies and regulations to administer coaching, corrective action and training through the certification process
- Coordinating, monitoring, and tracking all training with employees working on the South side Retail lines and keeping the training spreadsheet up to date.
- Responsible for the mentoring, re-training, and monitoring of all fully trained crew member.
- Responsible for the mentoring, training, and monitoring of Senior Technicians, to include spot checking all Retail production paperwork.
- Coordinate activities between shifts and ensure timely startups and shutdowns of the production processes
- Updates the South side schedule at or near the end of their shift.
- Responsible for adding all notes to the South side schedule for Retail lines.
- Responsible for releasing all Retail D365 orders and creating new orders for fix it issues.
- South side walk through with outgoing and oncoming supervisor.
- Looking 48 to 72 hours into the schedule and checking for equipment/materials that will be needed and ensuring that they are available.
- Complete and maintain all required paperwork and documents, including SOP’s for Retail lines.
- Updating the Retail SOP’s and sending out pertinent FYI’s associated with any changes.
- Responsible for the South side inventory cycle counts and year-end inventory counts that are assigned.
- Communicate day to day activities and follow-up on daily correspondences.
- Monitoring the schedule for any changes that may need to be made and for contacting management with what your plan is going forward.
- Responsibility to the Crew.
- Responsible for all payroll and time/attendance activities for ALL operators on your crew.
- Responsible for all personnel or performance issues that happen with your assigned operators.
- Responsible for the monthly crew schedule for both sides.
- Responsible for the Training schedule (who’s training and who’s next) for Retail operators.
- Responsible for Semi-Annual reviews for all crew members assigned.
- Responsible for directing both plants (north and south) in an emergency.
- Main point of contact with R&D for South Side Retail Trials, all trial preparation, communications to management and crews, and post-trial follow-ups.
- Back up to other supervisors as needed. Only 1 supervisor off per shift unless approved by management.
- Perform all tasks assigned by the Production Superintendents, while following all company, safety, and quality policies and procedures.
- Responsible for completing all tasks passed down from management in a timely manner or addressed before the end of the current work cycle.
- Travel to training, other CQC facilities, and/or complete transfers of materials as needed.
- Requires extensive use of the computer to include: Excel Spreadsheets, Word, Warehouse Management System, ERP System, Internet Applications / Programs
- Maintain regular attendance at work.
QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:
- High School Diploma or equivalent is required; an Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree is preferred.
- Minimum 2 years of related manufacturing experience or equivalent training. Experience in a food manufacturing environment is preferred.
- Previous supervisory experience is preferred.
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
- Knowledge of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) Systems, Inventory Control Systems, and Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS) would be helpful
- Must have an acceptable driving record and valid driver’s license
