Job Overview:

Summary

Under the direction of the Production Manager, the Production Supervisor ensures the production of company products at the highest quality at the lowest possible cost, meeting company performance standards and customer specifications and delivery requirements, in accordance with company policies and procedures. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring and training employees; planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. Primary focus will be in bending and paint line. Previous paint line experience required.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Prioritize, schedule, and delegate work assignments, and directly supervise the systems integration and test functions to ensure the production of company products at the highest quality at the lowest possible cost, meeting company performance standards, and customer specification and delivery requirements, in accordance with company policies and procedures.

  2. Plan production schedules, review component parts, and sub-assembly availability against build schedule.

  3. Review parts shortages with purchasing and adjust schedules as necessary.

  4. Ensure the training of new and present employees in the processes and methods required to achieve the company’s standards for quality, quantity, safety.

  5. Participate in planning meetings, recommending space, personnel, and equipment requirements.

  6. Develop and implement preventative maintenance procedures and plan the repair of machines and equipment to minimize downtime.

  7. Develop, recommend, and implement departmental policies and procedures, processes, and methods.

  8. Continually evaluate processes and methods, recommend measures to improve production methods, equipment, performance, utilization of people, and quality of product.

  9. Delegation – the individual delegates work assignments, gives authority to work independently, sets expectations and monitors delegated activities.

  10. Act as a technical resource to address and resolve inquiries and problems; analyze and resolve work problems and assist workers in solving work problems.

  11. Provide internal performance metrics as required.

  12. Monitors and corrects Non-Conformances as they happen. Defines corrections and disburses actions to be completed.

  13. Maintain departmental supplies, tools, equipment, and order as necessary.

  14. Ensure the completion of all required production paperwork, records, documentation, such as timecards, quality records, etc.

  15. Approve vacation schedules.

  16. Ensure compliance with departmental housekeeping standards and all safety and work rules and regulations.

Qualifications

  • Bilingual English and Spanish a plus

  • 2-5 years powder coat paint line experience

Education and/or Experience

  • Requires one to two years related experience; or two years of college and three to five years of progressively responsible related experience; or four years of high school and seven to ten years of progressively responsible related experience; or a combination of education and experience.
