Overview:
The Production Supervisor oversees daily manufacturing operations, ensuring a safe working environment, adherence to quality standards, on time delivery, and efficient production processes. They lead and manage production and shipping/receiving teams, coordinate schedules, monitor equipment, and drive performance to meet production goals, customer requirements, and company objectives.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
**Safety Compliance
**: Promote and enforce workplace safety policies, ensuring compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
**Quality Assurance
**: Monitor production processes to ensure products meet quality standards; implement corrective actions to address defects or issues.
**Customer Service
**:
Supports scheduling activities and works with customer service and sales to make sure that customer needs are being met in a timely fashion.
**Team Leadership
**: Supervise, motivate, and direct production staff, communicating job expectations, monitoring performance, and providing coaching, feedback, and discipline as needed.
**Production Management
**: Plan, schedule, and coordinate production activities to ensure on-time delivery and adherence to quality standards
**Workflow Optimization
**: Oversee production workflows, set processing variables, monitor equipment, and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.
**Resource Management
**: Assign personnel, manage resources, and ensure proper operation and maintenance of equipment, coordinating repairs as needed.
**Performance Tracking
**: Compile and analyze production data, track Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), and report on production progress and issues.
**Problem Solving
**: Identify operational abnormalities, conduct root cause analysis, and implement solutions to prevent recurrence.
**Employee Development
**: Participate in recruiting, onboarding, and training employees, fostering skill development and growth opportunities.
**Interdepartmental Collaboration
**: Work with other departments (e.g., maintenance, quality, logistics) to ensure smooth operations and resolve issues.
**Process Improvement
**: Develop and revise systems, procedures, and reporting mechanisms to optimize operations and record-keeping.
**Compliance and Cleanliness
**: Maintain a clean, organized, and compliant work environment by enforcing policies and educating staff.
**Additional Duties
**: Perform other tasks or special projects as directed by management.

Education Level
Associate degree
Languages Required
English & Spanish preferred
Knowledge & Experience
Years of experience:
Typically requires an Associate’s Degree in Business, Manufacturing, or a related technical field, and 2-5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in a supervisory role.
Alternatively, an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience may be considered.
Knowledge of manufacturing processes, lean principles, and safety regulations is often preferred.

Work Environment:
Primarily in a manufacturing environment with some office work. Environment is subject to the outside weather conditions.
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to stand for long periods of time, lift to fifty pounds, ability to sit in office setting, working on computer and/or electronic devices, activity relating to travel and navigating the office and/or sites on visits.
