Production Supervisor – 1st Shift

We are currently a seeking talented Production Supervisor to join our Manufacturing team.
A Production Supervisor at RLWS is responsible for prioritizing, scheduling and delegating work assignments, and directly supervising the manufacturing hourly production employees to ensure the timely and cost-effective completion of all work and projects assigned to the department. This position will act as a technical resource to other departments and direct reports to address and resolve inquiries and problems. This position will also participate in planning production scheduling, staffing requirements, and manufacturing controls. Ensure the manufacture of the highest quality products at the lowest possible cost, and meeting customer quality and delivery requirements. The Production Supervisor will also administer and ensure compliance with operating policies and procedures.
Production Supervisors actively direct, plan and manage all manufacturing activities of their designated department(s) and shift. This candidate will be act with professionalism and leadership while leading, training, delegating, and motivating employees in the department. Production Supervisors typically supervise between twenty to forty employees in their designated department(s).
This is a Regular Full-Time position with core working hours of the day shift, Monday – Friday; with some Saturdays as business demands require.
Major Tasks
Ensures that scheduled work flow is assigned and all employees are fully engaged during the shift. Manages schedule problems and adjusts as appropriate.
Performs the following duties for department; including staffing, justify of staffing, participate in interviewing and selection of new employees. Also includes scheduling of work hours, vacation and personal time approval.
Conducts employee performance reviews including coaching employees toward achieving maximum personal and departmental performance. Completes appropriate review forms and submits wage recommendations.
Facilitates or performs the appropriate training of department processes and procedures. Including necessary job skills, company policies, procedures and ensures training is timely and accurate. Provides help to employees having trouble obtaining or maintaining quality work standards.
Ensures a safe and healthy working environment by enforcement of safety rules and guidelines. Identifying and correcting working hazards and coaching employees on proper safety practices.
Operate area of responsibility consistent with lean business practices. Ensures lean principles are maintained and sustain compliance. Participates on lean teams and events.
Maintains inventory accuracy by providing cycle counting, BOM, routing and work order status accuracy. Identify root cause and eliminate.
Responsible for capacity planning of employees and equipment and coordinates with Planning/Scheduling to maximize throughput and optimize resource utilization. Work with Planning/Scheduling to review kanban parameter.
Ensure all suggested routing changes and set-up changes are coordinated with other departments.
Ensure that all employees clean up after themselves. Includes cleanliness of lunchrooms, carts, rags, machines, floors and verifies items are kept in an orderly fashion.
Ensure compliance of ISO requirements

Education and Experience
High School Diploma
Two or more years welding, fabrication, or other manufacturing experience
Two or more years of supervisory experience preferred
