Position Purpose
The Production Supervisor plans and directs facility operations as part of a supervisor team on a rotating 24/7 shift cycle. The incumbent supervises all process operations personnel and is responsible for the safety, quality, and efficiency of each of the operating areas. Additionally, the Production Supervisor monitors all coagulation and dryer processes. As problems/issues occur, this position prioritizes and communicates all necessary requirements to production personnel to maximize process up-time while maintaining safety and quality.
Principle Accountabilities
*Supervise manufacturing operations and shift maintenance activities to ensure safe and quality production.
*Utilize personnel effectively for line operations
*Develop materials and provide employee training
*Communicate and ensure compliance with all policies and procedures including OSHA, PSM, DOT, environmental rules, regulations and company policies and maintain appropriate records
*Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve production problems as to minimize the impact on customer satisfaction and attainment of performance objectives
*Manage supplies and raw materials
*Consistently and fairly apply and enforce work rules and attendance/tardiness policy
*Define, prepare, and analyze production reports
*Reduce cost of quality by fostering an environment of accountability and pride in workmanship
*Participate in and maintain improvement projects to enhance safety, improve quality, reduce the cost of non-conformance, adopt lean principles and processes, and promote customer satisfaction (internal and external)

Minimum Position Requirements
Education: Bachelor of Science (BS) preferred or experience working in the SBR environment or equivalent education, training and experience
Related Experience: 5+ years supervisor experience of operations in a chemical processing environment
Special Training or Competencies:
*Experience with hazardous materials, or safety background is preferred
*Must have a thorough knowledge of manufacturing operations (reacting, blending and packaging), equipment usage, and setup procedures
*Must possess good written and oral communication skills and be able to work with all levels of management
*Lean Manufacturing and/or Six Sigma experience preferred
*Computer skills including SAP or similar program preferred
*Considerable knowledge of safe work practices, OSHA, DOT, and Environmental rules and regulations
*Must be willing to work rotating shifts
